Really, the right is bending everything. You see car makers building batteries not hydrogen powered cars. The hybrid is dominating the auto industry as gas on,y alternative, not hydrogen. The hybrid just requires a smaller battery and is an electric car in the plug in version.
It doesn’t matter how much they weigh. That’s immaterial if they are efficient and fast and serve the needs..... Two hundred extra pounds of battery but a motor that’s 100 lbs lighter then a gas motor with the same power is where we are headed. Plus, the batteries can be placed anywhere to enhance handling. Ever weighed a tank of gas and a multi speed transmission which EVs don’t have ?
I love how somehow having more EVs is going to threaten the market for other vehicles but the truth is there is a growing market for a certain type of EV I am betting a certain number of scooter riders have a Mobile home as well. The technology is already at the point where a very large number of seniors use these for 70- 80% of transport for things like shopping Matter of fact they are starting to be a hazard
A Tesla battery has ~ 140 lbs of Lithium, which the enviroweenies are ignoring because electric cars "are one of ours". How many acres of "just over the hill" ancient lake beds are going to be ground up into future poison wind storms? Lithium is hardly a renewable resource.
For most of human history, people walked - thus, your bar is pretty low. This is my choice. When the market offers a viable alternative, I'll consider it.
Really. That’s pretty illogical. Most people commute an average of 40 miles to and from work. The viable alternative is starring you in the face. It’s the EV. But if one is a denier of science, the last election and AGW, it’s not much harder to deny EVs,
No, but is the most abundant isotope, found in sea water and requirements will deminish greatly with solid state batteries.
I don't believe there's a single forum feature I have not used, or rule of forum etiquette I have not followed.
The current system is awash with electric cars. Gee, you mean hybrid taxi service and electric trains are unviable ? Do you know how long electric powered public transportation has been going on ? Do you really think populated areas could exist without them. ? Show one common use and not specialty passenger train or freight service that is NOT powered by electricity.
None of them told you hydrogen didn’t use energy to be extracted from water either. Seriously. You took chemistry ? Would you like reference to see how it’s done. Or like many from the right who want free stuff, they think is magically happens.
OK, that’s fine. We’re now down to limiting battery operated vehicles to personal transportation and not load sensitive vehicles. Hold onto your hat. Now major car c9mpanues are offering EVs https://www.msn.com/en-in/autos/new...-vehicles-by-2025/ar-BB1gErGx?ocid=uxbndlbing long haul and buses and weight sensitive vehicles ? That’s hydrogen and hybrids......
Yes I took the first year of Chemistry in college plus a year of university physics. Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe.
