A quick rephrase - a white woman who was part of a violent mob trying to smash their way through a door they had no right smashing their way through. All she had to do to stay alive was stay on the other side of the door.

That context matters & it is something the Trumpers want to ignore. They just want to focus on poor Ashli who wouldn't hurt a fly and ignore that she was not only breaking the law, she was part of a mob that posed a genuine threat to the people on the other side of that door. The mob had already attacked & beaten LEOs. The people on the other side of the door had every reason to fear for their safety.

You are right, however. Had she been black and posing zero threat the same people turning her into a hero would be turning themselves inside out to justify her shooting.

Oh, and in answer to the OP, nobody 'murdered' Ashli Babbit.

I just found this video clip and posted in another response. I don't know about you but I don't go on a 4-letter word rant about my political beliefs with customers. I would imagine most people that want to keep their jobs don't either.

I don't recall anyone saying that Chauvin set out to murder Floyd that day. However, it is expected that a reasonable person would (or should) know that applying one's weight on someone's neck for several minutes has the potential of breaking the neck and/or causing asphyxiation.

Remember that little kid, 6 years old, that got killed last week during road rage? I'm certain the shooter didn't set out to kill a kid that day. But, it happened. He's not any less responsible just because he didn't intend to kill a kid.

I do not want to read Democrats whining about gun deaths or deaths by cops when they approve this fatal shooting of an armed woman for one crime. She was in the Capitol where anybody is welcome.

Disagree on this. It is her politics. The same people would be treating her as a martyr if she were a black or hispanic Trump supporter. In fact, they might be making even more of it. There is a different standard for no-whites killed by police, but in this case its all about the politics.

That certainly provides futher evidence that she was a fanatic who didn't feel bound by normal rules of behaviour. Clearly she felt that extended to laws as well.

 

I can see that as being true. I am generally frustrated by the way people justify their bigotry. I believe a large percentage of posters here would recognize the names Jon Benet Ramsey and Natalie Holloway. I would bet almost none can name any black or brown person whose death has remained unsolved. Yes, people have the right to champion behind whatever causes they want. I'm just tired of hearing that racism and sexism don't exist because the people making those claims are the ones contributing to the problem.

Yes, it does. Some posters have implied that her military police experience somehow speaks to her virtue. Personally, I believe that background should have caused her to think more carefully about her actions before taking them.

 

Hard to disagree with any of that. As I often say, if I wanted to convince a person of colour without strong political opinions to vote Democrat for life I would just let them see how conservative white people talk about them online. I'm not even talking about the hard core racists either. The assumption that non-whites are lesser is so deeply ingrained that is is normal to many, which partly explains their anger when they get called on it. They literally cannot see the problem.
