It is not to me to explain why you think that God is evil. I can offer some considerations though. Perhaps the evil done in Gods name was not sanctioned by or the will of God.

We are free, you and I. If one of us does evil and one of us does good. Is freedom made evil by the evil done, or is it made good by the good done.

Humanity bears up its offspring. Some do evil and some do good. Is humanity condemnable by the ones who do evil. Or is it praiseworthy by those who do good?

Clearly it boils down to the individuals behavior and the power of choice. Freedom is good. Humanity is good. And God is good.

Our individual choices and conduct determine our eternity. We cannot hide in the collective, bury ourselves in the mud, or close our eyes to Gods gaze and truth. But I can tell you that God is kind and good and as fair as a warm spring morning. And all that he has ever been about is our well being and eternal happiness. And for the most part our anger, fear and trepidation at the approach of this concept is with ourselves. So we turn it on God like a porcupine its tail of quills. It is not God who deserves our animus. It is us. Yet he does not destroy us but continues to bless us all our days, in harmony with his own sermon on the mount. Believe what you will GIA.
