How about Ben Sasse....and other intelligent, honest conservatives who don’t have the stench of Trump on them..
Both of those countries have more problems than they can handle. I certainly wouldn’t trade places with either of them. I’ve been hearing about this Commie takeover of America since the early 1960s. What has actually happened is a virtual takeover by crooked Capitalists. In my years here in America, I have seen great progress in many areas. I would like to see a more equitable distribution of wealth like back in the days of usury laws and strong unions. The last 40 years have seen wealth constantly streaming from working class Americans to bank swindlers, tax dodging corporations and crooked politicians...When I came of age, one could get a first rate education without going into debt. You could fill your 24 gallon gas tank for about two hours of work at a low wage job and could buy a house with a couple grand down. I feel sorry for young couples without rich parents these days.
GOP is over, It will lose many seats in 2022 and make a very poor showing in 2024. By 2026/ 2028 it will be of historical interest only. That's what happens when you turn yourself over to total bigotry and political lunacy
We have the same type of democracy we have always had. Politics is more than ugly and bloodthirsty. It is humanity at its worst. And from my perspective the democrats play the bloodthirsty game far better than the republicans.
I think you are, but it's not the Union just the GOP. You can only run so far behind history and the American populace may be many things but they are not batshit Jewish space lasers nerts A kinder, gentler and above all SANER GOP is on the way. My only question is that after 24 years of Democrats, (Biden, Harris and AOC) will we ever accept Republican misrule again?
Thinking about this, I think you're right. The Democrats play the bloodthirsty games with more finesse and tact. More covert, not so much in the open, but more successful. The Republicans are in your face. This doesn't change either of the two party's base, but independents who don't like rude, uncouth, in your face politics have gravitated to voting Democratic. Not that they like the Democratic Party more than the GOP, they view the Republican Party more distasteful. This really showed in the 2020 presidential election when independents voted for Biden 54-41. They were saying no more in your face politics,
If Cheney is the future then the party is the party of the deep state and one world order. The goal is compliance.
Republicans tell you who they are and act accordingly. Democrats tell you what you want to hear and do whatever they want once they have your vote.
What ARE you people, Vulcans? (and Vulcans HAD emotions btw, too many actually, that's why they became logical, ask T'pol while Trip is greasing her down one time, but I digress). Politics is like sales, you buy the thing for emotional gratification and come up with logical reasons afterwards. You guys are too used to Trump and having to reason "well, yes,he's a rotten bastard but his stock market is through the roof" The stock market (and ALL economics really) is ALL emotion boobala. Non-binary mathematicians in charge is tv fiction. Fortunes are made and lost because somebody sneezes wrong and there's nary an algorithm to be found before the closing bell.
And Republicans (though certainly none here) are rotten bastards and make no bones about it. The thing is they are STLL rotten bastards no less. At least Democrats TRY to treat you as if you were a Child of God, just like them. This is why the Democrat is often forgiven when the police catch him chasing little boys around men's rooms. He not simultaneously writing laws which execute men for even thinking dirty thoughts all the while. [hyperbole/]
Why not? I'll throw in my confused rant of the week award as well. I am impressed with your knowledge of life forms that don't exist, however.
I have no doubt independents didn't like Trump. They never did. 57% of independents viewed him unfavorably in 2016, but he was one lucky SOB to be against Hillary Clinton who was viewed 70% unfavorably. Questions 10 and 11. https://d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/cumulus_uploads/document/l37rosbwjp/econTabReport_lv.pdf 61% of independents viewed Trump unfavorably in 2018 resulting in independents voting for Democratic congressional candidates 54-42 over Republican congressional candidates, a 44 seat loss for the GOP. 60% of independents view Trump unfavorably in Nov 2020. Question 89A https://docs.cdn.yougov.com/nzc8dt85gn/econTabReport.pdf Even when Trump won back in 2016, independents really didn't like him. I would say independents didn't like Trump as a person, he was very easy to dislike with his very rude and uncouth persona. Much more a dislike for his personality and behavior than his policies as independents were fairly split on those. I might go so far with independents that politics, policy took a backseat to personality for the 2020 election.
I won't argue with that. But to do whatever a party wants, they first have to win elections. The Republican Party didn't have a problem with behavior in which the voters thought their candidates for presidency and other offices behaved. Only with the emergence of Trump has the GOP presented a very ugly face to the voters. Quite simply, the democrats took advantage of that. Facade, yes, but a facade that worked.
While those who abduct refugee's children to show people how tough they are are just the kind you want to owe your taxes to.
