Again, at this point, these very serious charges have been made, but as yet they are unproven! Thus, the legal process must be put into action and a determination must be made regarding his guilt or innocence, according to all applicable laws.

As the chief military advisor to the President, by law, Milley is part of the decision-making process. And, he didn't say that he would overrule the President, only that he would warn the Chinese of an impending attack, IF the President chose to make an unannounced military attack on China. Are you arguing that the President could have legally ordered a "sneak attack" (as in Pearl Harbor) on China without Congressional approval?

And the reason is quite simple: we will soon discover that Milley was far from being alone in his approach and that several high ranking army officers and Pompeo were perfectly aware of what he was doing.

There has also been a long period of built-up tension between the U.S. and China over trade policy and the South China Sea. But I was specifically referencing the "sneak attack" aspect of the Japanese on Pearl Harbor, at the beginning of WW II. Milley can speak for himself, but I suspect that's what he had in mind in the calls to his Chinese counterpart.
