Last summer I read all about the infrastructure plan for ports, particularly connections between the Appalachian industries and tech triangle to Port Wilmington, NC and Roanoke, VA. They have employees working at these facilities, but many are part-time. Some of these guys can only get one or two shifts a weeks. The Unions would demolish the Democrats if they tried hiring illegal aliens.

What they need is more freight traffic. This requires dredging for larger ships, road construction, high speed rail, natural gas pipelines, chemical and gas storage facilities at ports, etc. NC just spent dough on expanding the turning basin and higher clearance so they can bring bigger ships into port. VA, NC, SC, and GA are the places that need $150 Billion in infrastructure spending, because they are states that can accommodate large populations and economies. They are suitable for building a multitude of green energy infrastructure. They are close to natural gas, wind, and have plenty of Sunlight for houses.

Biden's infrastructure is going to waste tons of money rebuilding dead economies that can't be resurrected without transportation that can move goods from Midwestern States to the Carolinas without having to make a stop in Atlanta. You need to make it economical for shipping to be funneled to the South East Coast and Gulf, so freights can hit South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. That's the strategy. The West Coast ports force you to go further East through Panama to get to China, or a global route if sailing west.

 

Democrats don't use xenophobia and racism for electoral purposes.

No. Cause the Polls over-estimated Democrats and under-estimated Trump. Trump didn't have 5 Republican pollsters like the 5 Democrat companies under Biden's term that skew the average with bias error swings of +5% from Republicans/Independents to Democrats. You guys like to complain about Rasmussen and Trafalger, but they have way less bias. Trafalger actually gets an A-minus on 538. If you take Pew, Gallup, Rasmussen, Ipso, YouGov, and Cloud, Biden's Approval is 44-53 percent. And he only has soft support with strongly approves in the 20s. This is despite very positive media coverage from a majority of outlets that haven't even glossed over the corruption scandal.

Don't panic. But if you aren't worried about these numbers going into winter then you're not looking at the big picture with the economic and Covid-19 threat that's going to hamper the country into late Spring.

Detention times cost shippers and truckers profit. This is the reason freights don't want to deliver to ports. The Covid-19 policies have made it unprofitable to take freight charters to certain ports. You can't have freight sitting around when contracts are based on time of delivery. The manufacturers or distributor of goods or materials has to delay orders. Manufactures have to shut down machines that require many hours to start-up. For example, box and corrugated paper mills have to wait long periods before the machine is ready, and some times they have to keep burning fuel in expectation of a future material delivery.

I've been hearing this for two decades, but I don't believe the left is serious. The people crossing into the United States are telling reporters that they didn't believe they would be denied under Biden. This situation is already a disaster on many fronts. Nobody in the Bush/Romney crowd or the Democrat Party wants to take a tough position, because they think they'll lose Hispanic voters. This is just one thing Trump did correctly. He made Illegal Aliens wait in Mexico while the immigration process occurred, and he dissuaded people from wanted to cross. As long as politicians believe they can score points by sniping the other side and people within their party with charges of racism and xenophobia, illegal immigration will continue to snowball into severe problems.

The drought situation in New Mexico should be wake-up call to people that believe it's beneficial for people to keep streaming into the country to replace an aging demographic. Japan, Germany, and South Korea all have aging populations, and it's worked to their benefit. In those country, studies have found older generations pass inheritance to the younger generation earlier, there's an increase educational attainment, deeper bonds between family members, more mentors for children and young adults, increased work productivity (AI), and environmental benefits of shrinking population. This will also have a huge benefit for African Americans and Hispanics currently living in the United States, because there a larger pool of older white people with money are more likely to provide benefits to children of different races when they don't have any children of their own. They actually start seeing these children as the future. The population adjusts for the lack of labor by making advances in technology. This is psychology. It's the right way to things. Democrats will get the society they really want.

 

This is one of the few areas I agreed with trump on but like most processes he didn’t do it correctly.

Republicans also do not have the desire to implement policy that will severely impact illegal immigration — a wall alone doesn’t work. Like most things in this nation there is a divide between what the people want and what politicians do.
