No, I don't trust scientists, I trust politicians, priests, rabbis and imams. If a politician says a virus is a hoax, I believe him, and you should believe him too.
The wife and I both have received our two doses. When the booster shot becomes available, we'll get it. It seems to be the common sense thing to do. Whether or not the vaccines are guaranteed 100% or 75% or just help a bit, why wouldn't one want to get the protection they give? How this thing became political, that I don't understand.
No and no... and I ESPECIALLY refuse to be coerced or forced into getting it. Before the tyranny-approach, I was open to eventually getting it (I wanted to see how it went for others first, and learn more about it, before considering it for myself). Now, given the tyranny-approach, I am adamantly against it and it is now my "hill to die on". Once we lose the freedom to make our own medical decisions with our own bodies (namely, what gets injected inside of us, when that something gets injected inside of us, and needing a COVID passport in order to participate in society), what freedom DO we have anymore? This tyranny MUST be resisted at all costs.
Several reasons: 1) The hurried nature of the vaccine development 2) The not-fully-tested nature of the vaccine 3) The many reports of the vaccine's side effects being worse than just getting COVID 4) The belief many have that they already had COVID and are already immune 5) The belief many have that they are free individuals (with individual rights and liberties endowed by their Creator) and can make their own healthcare decisions. (In leftist lingo, "my body my choice") 6) The fact that pretty much everything that the media has banged the drums on regarding COVID has been blatant lies/manipulations/misinformation. 7) Because COVID is a scam and nobody has died from it; no vaccine is needed. There are more, but those 7 should suffice. It became political when liberals started mandating it upon people, which is a removal of one's freedom to make one's own medical decisions with one's own body. It is tyranny and an egregious violation of basic human rights. Liberals have made this into a political issue with their tyrannical policies.
never said it was, said I got the vaccine because I want to enjoy those retirement years, but I will also be getting the booster
you mean like women choosing to have their rapists baby or not? the right seems to want big daddy government deciding for us
It was what you implied, and you implied it yet again below... ... and you can enjoy those retirement years without a vaccine or booster. They are not requirements to enjoy retirement.
Murder is not a medical decision. The baby is not the mother & the mother is not the baby. Rape is not the norm.
I’m 66, and I was fully vaccinated last February, but I got Covid last July. The symptoms were mild. 5 days after I tested positive I couldn’t even tell I’d been sick. I’ve had ordinary flu that had worse symptoms and that lasted longer. Also, I didn’t pass it to my wife. The vaccine didn’t stop me from getting infected, but I do believe it enabled my body to make short work of the virus with no lingering effects whatsoever. I assume I have my own natural immunity now, but there are conflicting opinions on how long natural immunity lasts. So yes, I plan to get the booster as soon as it’s available. Btw, I am pro-vaccination, but anti-mandate.
My doctor already knows I will get the Booster. Hearing I can still get infected ticks me off. Truly it does and I told my doctor why. I have over my life been vaccinated dozens of times. But the other vaccinations did not come with a claim I would be infected later. Something is way out of kilter.
It is not stopping you or me from getting infected. What a shame. My other vaccinations did keep me from being infected.
