As I said to the other poster, the term sheriff was rhetorical. If you are just going to go to some town and open carry without checking the law, that's your own jeopardy. If you are going to check the law and comply with it, what's your beef.
You make an excellent observation, Robster -- example: Colorado is an "Open-Carry" state, so, you go wandering into downtown DENVER, (our liberal-infested capital city), wearing your pistol -- and you're amazed when you get busted...? Oooh, that's because hyperliberal DENVER has its own distinctly unique, separate law which forbids nearly all "open-carry" in its city limits. Obviously, you've got to be careful. Those who hate the Second Amendment are absolutely tireless in their ongoing efforts to disarm the American public to any extent possible, as often as they can!
My point is one needs to follow procedure like everything else, that's all. It has nothing to do with constitutional amendments. Gun rights can be argued from here till eternity, not interested in that, just procedure, and most certainly I don't whether one likes guns or not. I believe in the castle law and most definitely a home owners right to be armed. When they take their weapons off their property onto others or public, the issue can get cloudy immediately. Hence the sheriff term.
Once again, I must agree with you -- and -- I've talked with attorneys right here in Colorado who have told me exactly the same thing! Once you go outside your "castle", you've got to be very mindful of the law -- even if somebody attacks you out in a public place.
I guess my point was: your point has no relevance because 1) its legal to carry state wide where I live so me traveling to the courthouse IN MY OWN COUNTY OF RESIDENCE doesn't change that. << Same county, same laws even if you live in a slave state where sheriffs can decide things like that. 2) Rittenhouse was legally carrying because it was the law there, not because he had to check with anyone. My beef is you're making non-sensical comments and I derive amusement from pointing that out.
Oh you can see simply a lot of reasons why Kyle will be dragged into the same mud with civil lawsuits.... and not win. The jury selection for Kyle lasted 1 day.... where some take 3 weeks. And the way the prosecutors asked questions to Grosskreutz, it was as if he was working to defend Kyle instead of prosecuting him. I think we can all agree that they did a very lousy job. And there is a vid out that shows Kyle is beating up girls and there is a vid out where you can hear Kyle saying he would kill looters, showing what kind of person we're dealing with.... debunking the entire idea that Kyle, not trained at all, claim that he was there to give medical aid is just total bs.
I don't take my gun in to stores that post, but I do take my gun in to the courthouses and check them with the deputies or marshals at the door. Courtesy for counsel, officer of the court and all.
As did Rittenhouse. See above posts. None involve asking a sheriff for permission to carry. Full stop.
I asked about open carry in WI and was answered. 6th time, to open carry one should know the law. Seems you just want to start an argument. As for Rittenhouse, he was lucky, he could have been shot himself. He was also as stupid as they come for going there alone as well as a few others that I posted previously.
Start an argument? I'm simply answering your rather irrelevant comments in a way in which I derive amusement. Don't clutch at those pearls so tightly dear, you'll break the string. Yeah he shouldn't have done anything but get back to the other car source after being separated from Baltch. He's lucky he didn't get torn apart by a mob, and he has judicious marksmanship and great restraint to thank for making it out.
I was under the impression from your post you are from another country, am I incorrect? If not What do you do in your country when violent marauding gangs are burning and destroying everything in sight and the police are told to stand down? If I am then what do you do in your city...............
Hey go into some town brandishing your weapon, alone. You better hope you don't run across some "cowboy sheriff". From my time in the DoD, it is said, one is a lot more accurate when the targets are not shooting back.
Accidents have already happened in the classroom where guns allowed and yes, some teachers would lose it, go postal in a classroom imo or a child get ahold of the gun
People bother the police all of the time with man with a gun calls. If they’re carrying legally the police can do nothing.
The police can most certainly question you as to why you are there. My point for the 10th time is if one is going to do that, they need to know the laws. Not sure why that gets some people upset.
