"The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places, the seals are finding the water too hot according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from the Consulate at Bergen, Norway. Reports from fishermen, seal hunters, and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared. Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds. Within a few years, it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coast cities uninhabitable." 1922 ‘Washington Post’ article exposes man-made global warming agenda | OpentheWord.org Did a 1922 Article Warn of Warming Oceans? | Snopes.com
Al Gore said the same thing would happen by the year 2000, and guess what didn't happen. In the 70's they called it Global Cooling, in the 80's and 90's it was Global Warming, in the 2000's it was Climate Change, and now they are calling it Climate Emergency, Climate Catastrophe, and whatever else they need to call it to suit their agenda at any given time...
Here's a community in Florida that really hates high tide. But don't worry, it's probably just fake news. https://www.theguardian.com/environ...limate-change-coastal-real-estate-rising-seas
Just curious. According to Tineye.com, this image was first found on May 3, 2017, which means it could originate even earlier. 116 TinEye search results According to Wikipedia, "The 2017 Atlantic hurricane season was an extremely active Atlantic hurricane season and the costliest on record, with a damage total of at least $294.92 billion (USD).[nb 2]." 2017 Atlantic hurricane season - Wikipedia The image credit was "A potential scenario of future sea level rise in South Beach, Miami, Florida. Photograph: Nickolay" Lamm/Courtesy Climate Central" Paint me a skeptic, but can anyone else, who's better at research than I, determine if this is a fabricated image or an image taken during or right after a hurricane or cyclone? Is that tide level unusual in South Beach during or after a hurricane or cyclone? Capt Nice, any idea? Anyone? P.S. I guess Mr. Lamm fiddles with pictures. What does the dateline "Fri 15 Feb 2019 06.00 EST" mean? Does that stan for an estimate or for electroshock therapy? Your article says the author was there in December. Are we to assume that would be December of 2018? The author said, "I flew into Miami in early December and the risk was visibly apparent from the airplane window." He makes it sound like he took the picture at the time? I'm not very analytical, but does anyone else smell fish?
Or is the article just another exercise in gloom and doom? "Then Guardian features editor Ian Katz asserted in 2004 that "it is no secret we are a centre-left newspaper".[172] In 2008, Guardian columnist Jackie Ashley said that editorial contributors were a mix of "right-of-centre libertarians, greens, Blairites, Brownites, Labourite but less enthusiastic Brownites, etc," and that the newspaper was "clearly left of centre and vaguely progressive". Search for Arctic Ocean undersea volcanoes And notice the sea ice melt is just right above them, as it was in2005 and 2007... The warmers chase tectonic events hoping for magma release so they can blame that "heat" on co2. The 83F reading in the Arctic Ocean a few years ago was just such an intentional misdiagnosis by the taxpayer funded fudge baking liars the media calls climate "scientists."
Gloom and doom aside climate IS changing and one effect that it will have no one can dispute is the production of food, this will inevitably have broad consequences for everyone.
Yea, it might be. Do you mean that with crops it's a good thing? “You don’t need to understand anatomy to know that mainstream media is an organ of the Democrat party, and you don’t need to be a urologist to know which organ.” ― Anthony P. Mauro, Sr
You do realize that a peninsula is surrounded on three sides by water and in the case Florida buffeted on all three sides by hurricanes which are damn powerful beach eroders and on the Atlantic side by the gulf stream which under the right circumstances can also produce significant beach erosion.
Anyone fishing in Florida or the Bahamas knows that there is a big change in the running of most of the fish. Water temperatures make a huge difference when and where they run.
I also realize that peninsula was there hundreds of millions of years before being built on and decided after all that time that it was going to go 'under'.
For 50 years the alarmists have been selling something the left deeply buys into yet never comes true. 50 years!!!! Yes, for 50 years we were told we wouldn't survive past XYZ date, yet here we are with the left saying we're all going to die. Did Obama put his mansion up for sale yet? You know, the one on the Atlantic coast? The below article is from CNN. I repeat, CNN. They must be tired of preaching fear all the time. It's either that, or when questioned they want to be able to point to stories that aren't chin deep in lies and conspiracies.
Uh nope in fact the north American and Florida have come and gone repeatedly throughout geological history and in multiple locations upon the planets surface. The Rockies for instance contain multitudinous examples of fossilized sea life from hundreds of millions of years ago. There was at one time a crinoid reef outside of Tahlequah,ok. I fear it may have been damaged by the construction of a housing project.
