Almost like we should expect more from our public servants that we have hired to protect and serve than we do from a criminal. I know Republicans are trying to blur those lines but your statement of shrugging off this child’s death is a new low.

Should it not still be investigated?

Like I said....its a lawful concept often implemented and your willingness to not allow cops the same leeway given other citizens just show hatred in my opinion.

That isn't what happens. These shootings happen in the course of the officer doing their job and generally involve a degree of resisting the demands made by that officer. They have a job to do and it is dangerous for everyone to escalate the situation. Bad things happen sometimes.

I’ll wait for more information on this story to come out before I believe a cop shot indiscriminately. Before you know it the liberal press will have this blown all out of proportion like they did before the Rittenhouse truth came out. And how do we know they shot “indiscriminately”? Or are you one of those who thinks they should have just shot the lock out of his hand?

    :roflol:

Would Lee Harvey Oswald's Shooting in Dallas on 11/22/63 made news if he had only grazed a bystander?

    Answer: No.

The cop shouldn’t be charged. How could you come to that conclusion? It was an active shooter situation (as far as they knew) and they isolated the target. How was the cop suppose to know his bullet would travel through a wall and hit someone that was not in his sight? Get real, this cop probably saved more lives than was lost.

You don't think if a citizen fired inside a store and killed someone accidentally, that citizen would not face charges? Of course they would.

As a former cop, there isn't something right about this incident. Unless their target was doused in gasoline and threatening to strike a match or had some kind of bomb, no police department in this country would sanction drawing one's weapon and shooting with civilians in the mix. It just can't happen. That's not procedure at all.

So far it seems completely on the perp. The officer has done nothing wrong unless more information is presented.

The question comes down to whether we want police to be more expensive or not. If the cops cant shoot someone who is beating people with a bike lock, then they have to subdue the violent criminal with means that endanger themselves more. This translates to more cops in the hospital and on paid medical leave while they recover, which not only costs taxpayer money itself but also requires there to be more cops on payroll to cover for them while the injured ones cant work. So how much more tax money do you want to pay the police dept to reduce these sorts of accidental shootings? Im sure the family of the little girl would pay higher taxes to get her back... but there still has to be a limit somewhere and an 'acceptable casualty' rate. At a certain point, we can only afford so much safety and there will still be resultant casualties.
