A ehile ago I saw a request for a syllabus of a course incorporating CRT. I have found such a syllabus and link it here. There is a lot a material to discuss if anyone is interested in what is being taught in California schools where Ethnic Studies is required by law. Here is the intro, link below COURSE DESCRIPTION Course Overview: Course Overview: In this semester course, students will understand the intersectional themes of indigeneity, coloniality and hegemony to explore issues of self and communal identities, examine intergenerational trauma and foster collective hope and healing. Through an interdisciplinary and critical lens, students will learn from the living legacies of people of color, including Indigenous, African American, Chicanx/Latinx American/Raza, Asian American, Arab American, Filipinx, and Pacific Islander peoples — as causes of racial and educational justice. Students will also learn from their local communities and interrelated movements for social and environmental justice. Through this, students will gain the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for transformational change through a positive image of self, community, and critical hope for a more just and equitable world. Fun fact: I used to live in Salinas. F*** Commiefornia! Hispanic Students Were Forced To Learn Critical Race Theory. They Hated It. (reason.com) 'bUT tHeY're nOt TeaChIng cRT in sCHoOls. iT's a cOllEGe CoUrse' /sarcasm
Never divulge your race on official documents. It could be used against you no matter which way you answer.
Can I get some examples of modern day injustices and inequities that exist throughout the country. After someone provides the above, can they then explain if the injustices of the past committed by the groups mentioned in the OP will be included in the curriculum, or they only going to be portrayed as victims?
From the syllabus- "Critique empire, white supremacy, racism, anti-blackness, anti-indigeneity, patriarchy, cisheteropatriarchy, capitalism, ableism, anthropocentrism, and other forms of power and oppression at the intersections of our society"
So I call it commie and your response is they critique capitalism? Notice there is no critique of communism mentioned because this is literally critical theory.
You can critique capitalism because not all capitalisms are the same. There are lots of different capitalisms in the world.
You can critique anything. They critique capitalism because it's a direct competitor to Marxism. If you are a lefty this may not be obvious but it glaringly obvious to everyone else.
Sure. Now where's the critique of Marxism? It's not on the list. Where's the critique of identity politics? Also absent. This is simply commie propaganda and it's amusing watching leftists claim simultaneously that they don't teach crt while whining about laws against crt.
It would be if Commies weren't colourblind. They don't give a toss about skin or culture .. they're interested only in your labour.
You're not sure how reinstating the racial lens is bad? Seriously? I guess judging others on their behaviour, rather the accident of their birth, is too much to hope for in 2022? That nasty equality stuff is the devil, right?
You’re not going to see a lot of critique of communism because… communists have historically been allies to ethnic minorities. Like what happened in Vietnam and their quest for independence. There nationalists and communists teamed up. That’s why Vietnamese communism is so different than Chinese nationalism to the north, despite both being peasant based revolutions. Though to be fair that is with nationalism, not ethnicity. But ethnic nationalisms and communism are linked together.
1) Unless it's their own empire, of course 2) No such thing. Whites haven't been 'superior' in years 3) Racism like this BS? 4) Where's the anti-whiteness, and anti-brownness? and anti-yellowness? (hint, if you only see one problem race, YOU are the problem) 5) Where's the anti-migrant (as in the opposition to white 19thC migrants)? 6) Where's the opposition to matriarchy? 7) WTF? This is planet Normy, dude 8 ) You mean the capitalism that allows you to sit around thinking about this vile, divisive crap? 9) What 'oppression'? Name it.
And the study of Scandinavian ethnicities? How about Celtic ethnicities? Or Eastern European ethnicities? They're included are they?
