IMO, it would be better for at least three nations if Ukraine could somehow stop Russia from conquering Ukraine -- Ukraine, the USA and Russia.
voted neutral. I support the right of secession. If the seperatists want to to split from Ukraine, they should be able to do so. But that doesnt give Russia the right to bomb Ukraine military targets in other areas. But ultimately, its not our problem. I still say send The People of Ukraine arms and let them decide their own fate.
At this time of day most people in the US are still asleep, I think. Here it is about 10 minutes before twelve.
I'm for Russia. Russia is trying to save the lives of the people in the two breakaway provinces of eastern Ukraine that the Ukranian gov't was bombing, starving and killing (until Russia stepped in).
That option just died because Ukraine (and the US, for examples) don't want to negotiate Ukraine's borders. Leaders in the US wish to negotiate the US's borders, however.
If someone declared that your living room and kitchen are now independent and under his protection would you negociate with him or would you resist? No country has the right to carve out portion of another. The russian will get what is coming to them.
Dude, Russia doesn't want Ukraine. This is the lie perpetuated by most political cronies of US foreign policy. Russia wants to liberate those two break away provinces in eastern Ukraine that were being bombed, starved and killed by the Ukranian gov't before Russia stepped in.
I can do an analogy, too...If you decided you wanted to starve, otherwise mistreat and then kill your pet, would that be OK since you owned your pet and you thought your pet was misbehaving??
Ah, but there's no pet. Russians are going for territories not people. If they wanted to save the people they could just as easily give them russian citizenship and let them migrate. But like they did with Moldova and Georgia, it isn't about people, it's about ressources and industry.
