Yes I do and so does the western world. Russia has no right to break away chunks of foreign countries and invade. They're using the same excuse the german did in 39 and we know what happened then. If I were you, I'd rethink my support of Russia on an open internet forum. It may come back to hit you in the butt someday.
To liberate the two breakaway provinces in eastern Ukraine is the reason why Putin stated he moved into Ukraine. By thinking critically, I've decided Putin has no need for Ukraine because Putin can vanquish the world (if he desires to) more easily via economic means (the price of oil, for example) than defeating every military in Europe (which wouldn't be all that hard to do since most countries of Europe put more emphasis on building sky-scraper-sized Ferris Wheels, for example, than adequate militaries to defend themselves).
You are correct the Ukraine has a lot of industry's and natural resources . especially neon gas production which is needed to make computer chips , and it has a s importance from a military stand point
Some believe that the United States should kowtow to Putin, and not lead a coalition of advanced democratic nations in defense of democracy. Most differ. Trump calls Putin ‘genius’ and ‘savvy’ for Ukraine invasion DeSantis calls Russia-Ukraine war a ‘territorial dispute’ Trump Discussed Pulling U.S. From NATO Why Belarus supports Russia - Putin and Lukashenko's alliance Capitol riot suspect is granted refugee status in Belarus
I voted "clearly Ukraine" but it depends upon how much it costs for us to supply all the weapons they want and how that fits in with our national security. If the Ukrainians start stealing our gifts and throwing away what we give them, a serious change of course will be necessary. Given our limited resources, we don't need more ratholes like Afghanistan. I noticed that a couple people voted for Russia. That's like rooting for Hitler in 1939.
Yeah, that's why they grabbed Crimea all those years ago and annexed Donetsk and Luhansk recently. Assaulting Kiev was clearly a defense of Russian military integrity as well. Oddly though, Putin thinks gains made by his troops in Ukraine should be the starting point of negotiations. It is you that are repeating the lies of Russian propagandists.
The US military is intended to defeat all our foes. To that end we spend more than the next 10 highest defense budgets in the world. What we give Ukraine is accomplishing its mission: neutralizing Russia. That we're doing it without risking American lives is a nice bonus.
That sounds good, but it's not a viable strategy. We should have learned that during the Vietnam era, but sadly some people never learn. The same applies to Afghanistan. The Taliban is alive and well, and I would not call them “friends.”
Actually this is the type of war the US military is built to fight. We're not good at counterinsurgencies, but we do well with conventional tactics. The Russians share our weaknesses without partaking of our strengths.
I'm grudgingly for Ukraine, BUT.... The problem I have is Ukraine was a hot bed of hackers, ransomers, and were pretty proud of ripping off American's. I can only assume when it is over it is back to criminal business as usual.
