You believe and repeat Russian lies used to justify attacking, terrorizing and killing Ukrainian civilians. Despicable.

Nah...I know how the game is played. I know who Americans are. I served in the Balkans - multinational force-UNPROFOR. Some of us witnessed U.S military planes flying in jihadists and other radicals. Not to mention breaking the UN embargo on arms. Don't get me started. Despicable nation.

US and NATO officials believe Russia now appears poised to "bombard cities into submission," source says

    From CNN's Natasha Bertrand

US and NATO officials monitoring the war in Ukraine noticed a pronounced shift earlier this week in Russia’s strategy—namely, that Russia now appears poised to “bombard cities into submission," which could inflict significant civilian casualties, a senior western intelligence official told CNN.

“The heavier weapons are not just heavier in their in the weight, they're also heavier in terms of the damage that they can inflict,” the official said. “And they're far less discriminant. So, more casualties.”
“It is a very crude approach,” the official added. He said his experience with Russian leadership and Putin "leads me to judge that they have a completely different standard when it comes to respect for human life."

More background: US officials have warned in recent days that Russia's strategy appeared to be shifting from focusing primarily on military targets to targeting civilians, amid the realization that an initial plan to quickly capture Kyiv and topple the government had failed.

"The days to come are likely to be worse, with more death, more suffering, and more destruction, as the Russian armed forces bring in heavier weaponry and continue their attacks across the country," NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Friday.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken echoed the sentiment during a news conference in Brussels Friday where he is meeting with European allies.

“The Kremlin’s attacks are inflicting an ever-increasing toll on civilians there. Hundreds if not thousands of Ukrainians have been killed, many more wounded, as have citizens of other countries. More than a million refugees have fled Ukraine to neighboring countries. Millions of people across Ukraine are trapped in increasingly dire conditions as Russia destroys more critical infrastructure,” Blinken said.

The Washington Post first reported that significant civilian casualties, “massive loss of human life,” are likely in the days ahead, according to a senior Western intelligence official.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned NATO's decision to rule out the implementation of a no-fly zone over the country in a Facebook address late on Friday.

Zelensky said NATO's leadership on Friday: "Gave the green light for further bombing of Ukrainian towns and villages, refusing to make a no-fly zone. You could have closed the sky!"

Top US and NATO officials on Friday pushed back against calls for a no-fly zone to be set up in Ukraine, warning that it could lead to a "full-fledged war in Europe" and saying they're doing what they can to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia's invasion.

In separate news conferences in Brussels Friday, Blinken and Stoltenberg argued that a NATO no-fly zone simply wasn't realistic because of the risk that it would lead to a direct conflict between Russia and NATO.

CNN's Jeremy Herb contributed reporting to this post.

Irrelevant. Doesn't change the fact that the U.S policies are/were despicable. The key word is Tuzla.

you have already been written many times that there is no revanchism. You do not understand the causes of the war, or do not want to understand at all.

Whatever you believe about US policies, it really does not justify what Putin is doing to Ukraine. Not in the slightest. You must see that.

US exempts South Korean smartphones from Russia export bans
Whitegoods and cars also allowed to cross the border
Simon Sharwood, APAC EditorThu 3 Mar 2022 // 06:59 UTC

South Korea's Ministry of Trade has revealed that after discussions with the US Department of Commerce, the nation that is home to Samsung is confident that smartphones are exempt from new bans on exporting technology to Russia.

The Ministry's note on smartphone export exemptions states that the US Commerce Department is happy for those phones to keep reaching Russia – even if they're made at Samsung plants outside Korea – provided they're not sold to military buyers.

It was a private company sanction. Like Microsoft, Oracle, Boeing, IKEA, and many others.
They don’t want to sell you smartphones and semiconductors (chips). They don’t want to do business with fascists.

The USA have no business being in Ukraine. What did you expect? Russians to stand still and let you bring all sorts of military equipment at their doorstep. Every action you made has been offensive one. They are not stupid.

Being in Ukraine? Ukraine is a free country. If they want our help, that's their right. Russia does not have some special right to dominate it or to roll in with tanks and missiles and murder its people.

Your twisted thinking has robbed you of basic morality and sense.

Ukraine is not a free country. Has never been. For heaven's sake, Victoria Nuland and similar ilk decided who was going to run the country. What kind of freedom is that? Give me a break.

Incidentally, Russians aren't fighting ordinary Ukrainians, they are fighting the USA and your servants masquerading as Ukrainians. This is a proxy war against the USA.

Victoria Nuland doesn't have that kind of power. Never has.

You can see how these twisted lies are used to justify war. You can see by this example how, as the quote goes, those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities. Russians are committing an atrocity based on absurdities.

    Not necessarily.

The Ukrainian air force itself has taken serious losses on the ground and in the air since Russia invaded. As of now these loses have severely limited its ability to provide ground support for the Ukrainian Army. But this is and was expected, no-one believed the Ukrainian airforce would hold of a full Russians indefinitely, not even their pilots who still went up knowing they couldn't win.

But the thing is there's a huge difference between 'going down' and 'going down with out a fight'. The Uki's had more than enough aircraft and SAMS to take down 39? Russian aircraft in the few days it took before they lost air superiority over Ukraine. As for helicopters? I'm surprised there haven't been more losses. Not only are they much more vulnerable that fixed wing aircraft (slow and low) the Ukrainians had a lot of older MANPADS at the start of the war and in case you haven't noticed the west is supplying them with even more advanced systems as replacements.

This next is only my suspicion but I believe one of the reasons Russia' advance has stalled is that it can't risk using helicopters very much in front line areas - at least during daylight. So they can't just leapfrog resistance and take positions to the rear of the Ukrainian front lines. They tried that on day one when they attempted to seize some airfields with special forces and got reamed.

So there's no reason the numbers quoted have to be wildly off at all.

She was right. Sadam could not attack his neighbors any more or gas Kurds.
Economic sanction are war and in war people die.

But then in real war many more die and get crippled for the rest of their lives.
Make up your mind, what do you want, the soft war, sanctions, or the real war with blood and guts on the streets, a mad dog unleashes.

Freedom has a price, which do you want?
