Despite what many people seem to think (and not a few here have said), native Spanish speakers in the US do not "refuse" or are disinterested in learning English. No one knows the crucial importance of learning English than non-native English speakers in the US.
Come on man, you made a thread about speaking English and you made a typo! The omission of a pretty important word in fact. You know how they say English is one of the hardest languages to learn? For a non-english speaker trying to read a sentence the omission of an important word can change the entire context.
It should have read...." No one knows the crucial importance of learning English BETTER than non-native English speakers in the US. You did not add the word "better". Which language do you think is the most difficult to learn?
Now I see what you're talking about. I thought you were referring to the thread title. You are correct. It was not a typo, it was an error of omission.
There isn't one.
Sure there is. For English Speakers, Chinese, Korean, and Arabic are some of the hardest languages.
Sure there is. For English Speakers, Chinese, Korean, and Arabic are some of the hardest languages.
See how you started with "For English Speakers [sic]"? There is no "hardest language" to learn. Too many variables.
No, I don't like it when people try to fall back on the excuse "typo" when in fact it is an ERROR. I'll own up to it.
It ain't no big deal man I'm just ribbing you. But like I said if you're not familiar with the language the omission of a key word can change the context of an entire sentence. I do the talk text thing with my phone, I guess it's my Southern accent but if I don't watch it, this phone will say the damnedest things.
As it turns out, that particular ERROR of mine would not prevent the non-native English speakers of most languages from understanding the meaning.
Well no, there are not "too many variables." Being a native English speaker is one variable. That's the only one you need. https://www.mustgo.com/worldlanguages/language-difficulty/
I took the liberty of a erasing most of your post like you do to mine.... See how it can change the context?
Sometimes I swear I'm talking just as clearly as you ever possibly could and the damn thing gets it wrong. I can only imagine someone whose second language is English trying to use talk to text
I just posted a link to a website that shows you are wrong. Instead you decided to delete it out of your reply. If you are going to be one of those guys who edits replies to try to make their arguments look marginally better, than there is no point in discussing things with you.
What are you doing right now reading my mind? Lol. I'm actually sitting here on the banks of the Peace River drinking beer. The liver is evil and must be punished... I declare war upon that evil organ!
