Don't worry. The same White privilege that protected you in those other places would protect you here too.
When you met those police officers, did you fight with them? Did you resist arrest? Maybe you should do a test... next time you see a British or Irish or French or Italian or even a Vietnamese policeman, you should start a fight with them, and see how they treat you.
US police officers are by and large a good and honorable group of people. Of course, like with any profession, there are a few bad apples. Unfortunately, they are the ones that tend to make the news. I've never had any issue with a police officer and have never been treated with anything but respect.
Yes, OMG when are African Americans ever going to start acting like everyone else and co-operate with law enforcement? Because the officer killed him in self defence before Lyoya could use his Taser against him and then murder him! Really? Because I always found the US police perfectly friendly. Maybe because I never resisted arrest and tried to murder them?
Yeah, it's easy for people to criticize LEO's when they don't have to carry out the law, face the real dangers, and bear the responsibilities of the job.
From everything I have seen, at this point I'd say Lyoya created all of the circumstances that led to his shooting.
Color, Pah-Leeze We Don't Need No Superfluous "u" in the Land of The Free And The . . . I Am A Recovered Liberal if any liberal can truly be termed, recovered. I doubt We Will Ever Witness An End To The Race Card. Moi Let An Old, Gray Haired White Man, Lead. Viva La Pen!
Including that the car the perp was driving had the wrong plates on it (likely driving a stolen car). If so, should it be any surprise that rather than follow the lawful and reasonable instructions of the police officer, he instead, resisted to the point the cop had a reasonable fear for his very life.
I haven't read the story but is this one of them stories that tries to paint the black guy as a saint only to find out hes a gang banger with priers who tried to take a cops gun during a struggle? I'm not gonna bother with another one of these..."learn how to interact with the ****ing cops", thread.
Taken from comment section in Youtube: `The way the media is talking about it as, “a killing over a traffic stop” is like calling a bank robbery, “man arrested for withdrawing a large amount of cash”'
Lots of info (but facts?) from the link about other alleged cases against cops. No factual info from the link about this current incident involving Lyoya.
"It's shocking to Black migrants who have this vision of the United States as the land of the free and the home of the brave," said Nana Gyamfi, executive director of the Black Alliance for Just Immigration. "There's a notion that police here are going to be different." They find it shocking that if you physically resist arrest and try to get the officers weapon bad things are going to happen to you?
What do you expect to happen to youbif you refuse an officers lawful orders, attempt to flee the scene, physically struggle with the officer even after the officer tries to use non-lethal force and then you try to get thebofficers weapon from them? What do you believe would be the outcome. Bad things for you?
Had the officer been able to search him to determine that? No. Did he go for the officers weapon? Yes.
I'm are you acted human and friendly to them and did not try to flee the scene of a crime, physically resist arrest, continue to fight with the officer and get his weapon to use against them. Had you what do you think would have been the outcome?
He had a big strong body that the officer could not easily control. Seeing a pattern here? Maybe you'd like to tell us what the solution is? Treat him like a rabid animal and call in animal control to bring in a tranquilizer gun?
