They were already paying property tax like every other property holder in Florida and then some. They were paying Orange county real estate taxes plus paying for the improvement bonds plus paying for their own fire department and sewage treatment. Now Orange county is going to have to cough up more money with no more revenue. The Orange county officials have said this is going to cause them to have to raise property taxes on everybody in the county by at least 25%. Yes it is mainly because of streaming, just as netflix's stock is down 65% on the year. Investors are starting to realize that streaming is not the big future they thought it was going to be.

GET WOKE, GO BROKE: Dang: Disney’s favorability rating has cratered from 77% to 33% since last year.

"The share of Americans with a favorable impression of Disney has collapsed from 77% last year to just 33% today. This is catastrophic reputational damage—and a warning to other companies about the cost of going woke."

"Up until recently, almost everyone thought of Disney as a family-friendly, apolitical entity. Most of our childhoods were greatly influenced by the content that Disney created – in fact, it could be argued that Disney has contributed more to the current shared social fabric of America than any other single entity over the last half century."

"But their slip into sexual ideology caused that brand name to become tarnished. Now, in less than a year, they went from 77% favorability – a hard thing to get in our polarized world! – to a mere 33%!"

They Deserve This: “When a movie keeps failing to hit the day-by-day projections it should hit, based on the numbers it did the day before, that means that bad word-of-mouth is crippling it. Each day’s numbers are worse than you’d predict they would be, because each day’s numbers are poisoned by bad word-of-mouth getting out. Disney isn’t releasing the viewership figures for the finale of Moon Knight, ‘which means it was bad.’ Given how bad Marvel Phase 4 has been, Dr. Strange really needed to be genuinely good to reverse things, and it’s not."

And then there is what they did to Star Wars.

LOL no. Netflix down, disney down, roku down over half all in the last year. Entertainment was the port people not sure where to throw their money ran to and now that streaming is a bust they are taking their money out. No more, no less.

    Two things...

    1. What was Disney trading at on 1/1/2022? If the geniuses at the DailyMail are going to make that silly claim in May, that would be the starting point you need to use..

    2. Why am I explaining that fact to you?

Disney was trading at $156.76 on Monday, January 3rd. As of this second, it's at $103.14. You could find the information HERE. Click YTD and use the sliding mouse. I mean, going from 150 to 100, dunno what to say but I think the math is obvious.

I own Disney stock - I'm gonna say, it ain't good right now. Had I actually paid for it, I'd be a bit perturbed. May be a good time to buy as I can't see it tanking any further, but I'm no stock expert.

Stock was around 190 - so the drop is not just the woke stuff, but it definitely impacted

They will be fine in the long term. Disney+ will eventually be a cash cow

Oh, I certainly could have looked it up, if I felt compelled to do so.... Obviously it would be down in 2022, like everything else

I just cannot STAND silly things like a claim Disney could be one of the worst stocks in 2022....in freaking May.... Then starting that clock with the stock price in March 2021...

    How do you tolerate that?

Groomer Disney announced on March 28 that it would force FL to repeal the parental rights bill.
It closed at 138.72 with a market cap of $252.56B on that day.
Today it's at 105.83 with a market cap of $192.68B

It's share price is down 24% and it's lost $60B in market cap.

The S&P 500 is only down 14% over the same period.

IMPART A LESSON THAT WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN: The Day of Reckoning For Woke CEO’s is at Hand.

Never thought I'd find myself rooting for the Disney company, but you've convinced me

Sounds like a great buy opportunity... Thanks.... Any other companies fighting fascism you want to alert me to??

You're welcome. The same thought occurred to me.
Italian fascism was government controlling society through corporations. That won't work in our Constitutional Liberal Democracy, which is why Disney's attempt at fascism blew up in their faces.

Fake News. Liberal Representatiave Democracy is the antithesis of Fascism. An idiot corporation claiming that they could force the repeal of a law passed by a Citizen Elected Legislature and signed into law by a Citizen Elected Governor was Disney's defeated attempt at fascism.

And they've paid a price for their foolish attempt to overturn a legitimate act of democratic power, as well they should.

Just remember, it's all about working together:

    KAMALA:

"We will work together, and continue to work together, to address these issues, to tackle these challenges, and to work together as we continue to work operating from the new norms, rules, and agreements, that we will convene to work together...We will work together"

A lot of Disney+ issues have to do with the rather unreasonable expectations they had on subscription growth. The lackluster shows certainly didn’t help much. They already grabbed who they could regarding all the older movies. And anyone who wants to watch newer MCU is hooked. Convincing people who don’t care about their library or the MCU AND Starwars aren’t going to suddenly subscribe when that’s all they got. The newer shows are more about pissing current fans off than attracting new ones right now. I really don’t know ANYONE who is a fan of SW or Marvel that is excited about anything coming out. It’s more about wait and see and hope for the best. I was a massive SW, Pixar and Marvel fan but ever since EndGame it’s been mostly crap. Pixar has been pumping out mostly average fair since Toystory 3. Disney Animation since Frozen has been a snooze. Kids might like it but much harder for adults to appreciate it now. So much woke messaging and feminist crap. But that’s what happens when you start allowing activists to write movies and shows. They’re NOT writers. And they don’t know the material, especially Star Wars and Comics. Kathleen Kennedy is a ducking moron who obviously HATES Star Wars because she is doing everything possible to ruin it.

What?? You think that fight is OVER??

    Think again...

Do you know what Governor Death's winning margin was in 2018?? About as small as his brain pan....

His shitty laws aren't going to help... like this one

    https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/11-th-circuit-ruling-on-florida-social-media-law-185214403.html

And I have no idea what the point of your Kamala quote was for? Can you explain??

To be fair, SW has been **** since Lucas decided to bring us Episodes 1-3. The SW one off movies such as Rogue One and Solo were fantastic. Especially Rogue One. Episodes 7-9 were meh.

Marvel on the other hand is killin it. The Marvel original programming on Disney+ is great. Hawkeye was amazeballs. Haven't seen Moonknight yet, but I shall soon.

What makes you think the Will of The People is going to change on this subject?
If you think he's going to lose his election bid, and you're right, and you are willing to put some money down on it, you could make a great deal of money. You can buy a $100 contract that pays on Crist's victory for $9.20 cents.

    https://electionbettingodds.com/FLGubernatorialElection2022.html
They aren't "his" laws. They are the laws passed by the elected representatives of the Citizens of FL.
Because in our Liberal Constitutional Democracy, it's all about "Working Together!"
