well...sure ships are one thing but the situation on the ground is more important I'm thinking of the now not in a few months time

....I just hope that the Ukes have a cunning plan up their sleeves. If the Russians close the encirclement - which seems likely - Ukraine will lose much of its best manpower and equipment so Harpoons are not going to be of much use...drones and PGMs can only cause finite attrition.....for this sort of battle, massed mechanised forces and artillery are needed to shape the outcome...

Like before, this attempt at an encirclement is a two-edged sword and will result in an encirclement of Russian forces again.

I saw that he was claimed on Telegram channel that tracks Russian dead. That crew uses a lot of sources and I even saw them using Russian local newspaper death announcements for confirmations. I don’t remember them posting any death that was later confirmed to be false.

Ukraine is starting to switch railroad gauge to European standard. Expensive and time consuming task. They should have started in 2014. But once the infrastructure is in place russian trains will have no physical ability to use Ukrainian railroads. Ukraine should not even think of building conversion stations on borders of Belarus and Russia. Moldova will end up getting its railroad locked in, so they’ll need to switch too.

Thats a bold defacto claim .. well .. not that bold I suppose given how near all our regime change wars went .. but .. what do we mean by "Lose" ? For sure it looks like Vlad will not take over all Ukraine .. but the separatist regions in the south are still up for grabs.

There are no separatist regions in the south. There are occupational authorities.

    upload_2022-5-24_17-7-45.png

...daft bastard should have stayed retired instead of hitching up with Wagner....money's not worth being dead for

[edit]...apparently the 63 year old hat had been fined 5 mil roubles for trashing a SU-27 he wasn't qualified on and given the boot from the air force. Couldn't give up flying apparently...and probably needed the cash...so the nice chaps at Wagner offered to pay and was lured back into the cockpit....karma's a bitch

Ukraine will have to rebuild their railway network one way or the other. What is more important to Ukraine? Export grain or import weapons?

Russians keep hitting Ukrainian railways that carry NATO weapons and now Ukraine can't export grain

Some Russian blogger has posted an interesting photo journal of them being readied....for scrapping in Ukraine I suppose....maybe they should have towbars attached instead of the telephone poles at the back...make it easier for the Uke farmers to haul them away...:D....

It would take 36 hours to change the gauge on all the railroads if they knew what they are doing and had the manpower and expertise.

You have entirely missed the point. What Russians want has nothing to do with the fact that the president Zelensky and his inner circle completely deceived and robbed Ukrainians of their own money. They have all committed monumental fraud. The war is a perfect excuse for all of them to avoid accountability. They actually benefit from this war. They concentrated all the power in few hands.

36 hours is very impressive. I’ll be surprised if Ukraine manages to complete the conversation in 36 months.

"Goodbye Commander. There are few people on this planet who lived in the sky like you. The sky takes the best, today it took you," was the message on the Telegram channel Fighterbomber, which is a forum for Russian military pilots.

How the 63-year-old retired general ended up piloting a Su-25 in Ukraine is unknown, although former subordinates told the BBC that he "simply could not stay away."

He chose the wrong side. Too bad for him.

Zelensky is not due for re-election for another couple of years. Currently his support is very high among Ukrainian population, so I’m not sure what you are trying to say here. If by the time of next elections Ukraine at least gets back to the position before February then he’ll be re-elected without a second round - his current support is close to 90% last time I checked. Wars tend to unite people around their leadership - that’s why many Russians support Pootin, many Ukrainians who weren’t happy with Zelensky support him now, and that’s why my criticism of Biden moderated compared to what I was posting about him more than 6 months ago.
Posting elections garbage on Zelensky at the time of war just shows your desperation. Ukrainians have a long way to go before he is on the ballot and Ukraine has a bigger fish to fry now anyway.

My point is that calling an occupied region during an active war a “separatist region” is stupid. At the moment there are no separatist regions in Ukraine - there are Russian-occupied regions that it holds by force where Russians openly murder activists and journalists who dare to voice their opinion against Russian presence. Spain has a true separatist region - Catalonia. You can tell it’s separatist because nobody sends them any weapons and the separatism is driven by the residents of the area, not some external military power. Even Crimea and Donbas are Russian occupied areas, not separatist regions.

Yep. The Big Lie is Russia's M.O. They just repeat a lie until enough people believe it, including the lie that the areas they occupy are separatist regions. They also make their lie real by weeding out the people who vocally oppose Russian occupation and annexation.

It is obvious that you lack comprehension skills. What I posted has nothing to do with the elections. Just irrefutable evidence, from western, Indian, Middle eastern credible sources that Zelensky and his inner circle are total frauds who robbed Ukrainians of their own money. Which part of it you don't understand? A fraud is a fraud. You either believe in the rule of law or not.

Your links are nothing but election crap. Use of offshore accounts is very common in Eastern Europe and Zelensky was a successful businessman long before he entered politics. All of his wealth is legitimately earned. Do you know how I know this? I know this because up till 2019 Zelensky had no access to public funds - he physically had no ability to participate in corruption schemes. And why would he? He was famous before running for president with legitimate profitable business that generated his wealth through comedy and marketing. Zelensky’s link to Kolomoysky is also legitimate - Kolomoysky owns Ukrainian TV channels, while Zelensky owns a company that was producing content for TV audience, therefore them working together is just an inescapable business reality in Ukraine. Making a scene about his offshore accounts without knowing these important realities of life just makes you look desperate.

The only desperate one appears to be you. Frantically trying to cover up fraud. I couldn't care less. If you are OK with a fraud and his clique of thieves running the country any way they want without being accountable I have no problem with it. It makes you look pretty damn stupid not me.
