So, you know that the monkeypox is terrorizing several countries now? And that it's currently being spread through sexual contact? Specifically, the gay male population? Well, I wouldn't think that someone would have sex with someone else who has pox all over their body. But, well, some men can't wait. They need sex now! So, I was thinking what if big pharma develops a medication that turns off men's sex drive temporarily for the while that they have the choice to take it for the 5 weeks it takes to get over monkeypox? Men are men. And gay men are also burning in lust for one another. But shouldn't they be given a choice to turn off their sex drive to help them better cope for the few weeks that it takes to get better?
I was really hoping we were past the 1989s but I guess once someone learns homophobic nonsense it’s tough to adapt to something new.
I was really hoping we were past the 2000s but I guess once someone learns to shout "it's bigotry!" despite what the evidence shows makes it tough to tackle real-world problems.
Because back then it referred to the KKK I believe. So that would be why. Says the one saying “gay men lusting for sex”. Kinda homophobic.
That's from the Bible. I can't find the specific chapter and verse right now. But it was probably in a section where they list things not to do. But that was then, when they had to refrain from doing certain things in human nature, like homosexuality, in order to stay healthy and fit, and preserve the human race. But, I'm not suggesting that turning off the sex drive of men be permanent. This is not chemical castration. I just want a temporary relief for those men who need to get through this time of monkeypox without sex. Monkeypox is endemic which means it has spread to multiple countries and has become a common disease that spreads and is always around as an infection risk. If people could all wait around for 5 weeks (the typical infection duration is 2-4 weeks) then we could end this disease outbreak for good.
I am not sure why you think homosexual men are just unable to control themselves sexually. Beyond that, wouldn't that argument work for ANY condition that requires abstinence? I know people that willingly have unprotected sex knowing they have an std and/or not having that discussion with the other party prior to unprotected sex. So, your post seems homophobic, sexist and a bit "stirring the pot".
I'd hardly say "terrorising". It's a handful of cases in a handful of countries, it isn't a widely infectious and not massively dangerous, especially with developed healthcare. Also, if Monkeypox was such a terrifying illness, why haven't you expressed the slightest concern for any of the African counties where it has been endemic for decades? Unlikely, certainly not as the primary vector. Monkeypox infection comes from general close contact and so typically affects people living in the same home, careers or healthcare workers. While transmission is technically possible via sexual contact (in general, not just male-male), it's unlikely to be a major factor, not least due to the practical issues you refer to. It does seem like many of the initial outbreak cases were among gay men and one potential cause for that could be a music festival which happened to attract a lot of gay men (potentially including ones who don't openly identify as gay of course) being a potential super-spread event. That wouldn't mean or require sexual contact to be the source of those infections though. There is nothing to support the assumption that gay men are fundamentally more likely to spread the infection. It feels like you're projecting here. Maybe you should focus on your own issues rather than imagining ones for other people?
Are you under the impression you are posting to the AMA and Big Pharma companies? If so, you're mistaken. This is pf - a political forum. Nobody here can run with your idea. eta: Hint - you shouldn't post homophobic comments and then nobody would have to point that out for you.
I think monkeypox has a longer time frame from exposure to first symptoms than many viruses. Seems to me like I read somewhere you can have it a couple weeks before you start developing sores. Anyway, closely equating this with gay sex is a repeat of the mistake made by conservatives during HIV/AIDS. It won't necessarily take long to break out of that population. That just happens to be the ground zero demographic.
False. Why don't you read up on it, you know, from actual sources as opposed to internet rumors. Monkeypox may be spread from handling bushmeat, an animal bite or scratch, body fluids, contaminated objects, or close contact with an infected person.[11] The virus normally circulates among certain rodents.[11] Diagnosis can be confirmed by testing a lesion for the virus's DNA.[5] The disease can appear similar to chickenpox.[6] The smallpox vaccine can prevent infection with 85% effectiveness.[5][12] In 2019, a monkeypox vaccine, Jynneos, was approved for adults in the United States.[13] The current standard for treatment is tecovirimat, an antiviral that is specifically intended to treat infections with orthopoxviruses such as smallpox and monkeypox. It is approved for the treatment of monkeypox in the European Union[14] and the United States. Cidofovir or brincidofovir may also be useful.[6][15] Reports of the risk of death, if untreated, are as high as 10% to 11% in the Congo Basin (Central African) clade of monkeypox.[3][16][7] Monkeypox was first identified in 1958 among laboratory monkeys in Copenhagen, Denmark.[17] Monkeys are not a natural reservoir of the virus.[18] The first cases in humans were found in 1970 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.[17] An outbreak that occurred in the United States in 2003 was traced to a pet store where rodents imported from Ghana were sold.[5] The 2022 monkeypox outbreak represents the first incidence of widespread community transmission outside of Africa, which began in the United Kingdom in May 2022, with subsequent cases confirmed in at least 20 countries,[19] in Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Australia.[20][21][22][23][24] Wiki
I will tell you why. Monkeypox is the second genetically modified disease after Coronavirus that has been introduced and spread across the world to control the population. I know because I talked to a spook about it way back in 2014. And, they wanted to do the same things with Monkeypox that they did with Coronavirus. Now, the Coronavirus version that emerged in South Africa was milder than all the others, despite the fact that since it was Africa no one would have even noticed, and they had a higher than average birthrate there, so if they were racist then South Africa would have been the ideal target. But, that's not what happened. They got the least harmful version that was intentionally spread. The Monkeypox epidemic will be shorter than Coronavirus. Also, I'm unaware of any future epidemics, if there are other ones that emerge in the future it will be on them. I didn't have any further conversations on the matter.
I honestly don't know why they seem obsessed about what is happening in non-heterosexual people's bedrooms.
Statistics are statistics. If you don’t like them make your own study. Homosexuals or those in the LGBTQHFIPSTD community have always had higher rates of STD’s. That’s not homophobia that’s as factual as your DNA’s ability to distinguish between a male and female.
Spook an undercover agent : spy Spook Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster It's not quite a traditional bioweapon, per se. The thing about this is that it was done in such a way that no one will be to blame and no one will be losing any sleep about it from a guilty conscience.
It's a BS figure of speech. People can control themselves. The Bible is often setting up and Us versus them dichotomy.
