That is where I don’t understand some on the pro-birth movement (I refuse to call them pro-life until they fight for programs to benefit the child’s life once it is outside the womb) — if you believe it is a life and deserves to live no matter what, why does rape overrule that life?

I agree with you, while I believe it is cruel to make a woman carry a child that she doesn’t wish to have under penalties set by the state (a forced incubator if you will) I believe it is morally reprehensible to mandate a woman that was raped do so. Unfortunately several states are looking like they will do just this.

I just don’t believe saying it’s a being deserving life unless the mother didn’t consent then we can kill it makes sense on the lens that it has innate rights.

 

If only there was a way for you to find that out.

True, but there are non-latex alternatives. Not sure how good the alternatives are though.

 

But if condoms do fail sometimes it looks like getting pregnant is also a side effect.
