To cite only a few of many: undermining NATO, denigrating veterans, taking Putin's word over his own intelligence community, lowering the level of public discourse. It is unacceptable to me to have a President I would not permit in my home.
Those are headlines, not factual events. That is what these broad condemnations usually end up looking like. You forgot destroyed our democracy and gave everybody Covid.
They are mischaracterized stories of events in his Presidency. The one that stands out is how he damaged NATO by demanding they live up to their obligations. Another is that he actually communicated with Putin and Kim. Intelligence reports are given to Presidents to inform them so that they can make informed decisions but they were never meant to dictate courses of action to a President. This country was thriving on his watchbut today not so much. Trump was unorthodox which is exactly why he was elected. Turns out the Establishment, including both sides, was a more powerful monster than we thought.
I need no review. I served in the US intelligence community and defense sector for 40 years and I have kept up with events since my second (full) retirement. Trump's personal cowardice and denigration of those who served were disgusting. His bungling gestures toward Putin and Kim were dangerous.
Yes, meeting and talking to people we aren't getting along with is bound to cause someone to invade someone else.
Trump was played by both Putin and Kim, and our allies were discouraged. And yes, Trump's anti-NATO and soft-on-Putin encouraged Putin's miscalculation about Western reaction to his invasion of Ukraine.
Putin invaded Ukraine on Biden's watch. With all your connections to the intelligence agencies I would have expected you to know that. Who was in the WH during the Crimea Special Operation?
You need to check whoever is giving you your retired spy briefings because Putin seems to wait for Biden to be in office so he can launce his special operations. No wonder Trump didn't listen to the agencies you worked for.
I liked that he was trying to make NATO nations pay their share it seems more like welfare than alliance. Our intelligence community is completely untrustworthy. All of their shenanigans that came to light recently. Putin isn't better but in a pit of snakes you can only accept the ones that aren't biting you. And the discourse was destroyed long before Trump. Remember any criticism levied at Obama was white supremacists? Trump was the antidote to lowered public discourse But anyway, agree to disagree.
Nope. You may recall the stellar performance of US intel in the run-up to the war and after it began. Putin's Miscalculations | Wilson Center https://www.wilsoncenter.org › putins-miscalculations Mar 9, 2022 — Putin's decision to launch war on Ukraine was based on at least three incorrect assessments: underestimation of the West's solidarity with ...
It's a good point but it's relevance is based on Trump running again in 2024. Although I think it's possible, it's not in any way a sure thing.
Seems like the media is programming people to blame Trump for his appointments to the Supreme Court as if the Senate had nothing to do with them. Meanwhile Biden was looking for a Black Female candidate and no one cares about racism & genderism as a qualification. Go figure! I can't Moi How about an Asian?
Deflection to nonsense does not present well as debate. Regardless, consider my point as moot given the vacuous response quoted above.
