I think we need to pass a new capital punishment for these people who do this. One which televises their death by friends and family of victims. I also think friends and family should obviously have a choice to do it but if no one does then hang them high in streets and let everyone see their last squirms. I would be for torture as well. 'Smart' is difficult to define. A person may score well on an I.Q. test and still fail to think rationally about abstract social issues. Or a person who scores well may be driven by religious zeal or political ideology. All I can hope for is that there are those who can come up with ways to significantly reduce deaths by gunshot in the United States of America and have the ability to put them into action.

Meanwhile, This armchair observer of the passing parade can, at least, bring the tragedy of our level of gunshot deaths -- estimated at over 45,000 in 2020* -- to people's attention.
