In the former case he was asked by Russian ally Syria to help them out in defending against Israeli and US military aggression.

In the case of Ukraine, Russia has been complaining for many long years about NATO encroachment by way of Ukraine. Russia helped arrange the Minsk agreements, which the west and Kiev trashed.

Can you see the difference in policy and actions between the US method and the Kremlin method? Probably not, it might be a bit too subtle for you.

I’m glad I watched it (on Rumble), because I had not realized the extent to which Ukrainian nationalism is tied up with right-wing extremism, even neo-Nazism. I still consider Putin’s claim that he had to invade to “de-Nazify” Ukraine to be risible.
