They all know the answers to number 3. They simply will not and can not bring themselves to admit the truth and answer them.

Once again, the quality of the mental gymnastics necessary to justify the Orange Halfwit's theft of government documents--some highly classified---is remarkable.

Aaah! Obama, Obama! How much better you would feel if that whole matter were about Obama! But, it's about Trump, alas! Remember him? The defeated FPOTUS.

And, pray, tell us what is the relevance of this 12 years old piece of information in the current debate?

Hmmmm. I wonder if the Orange Fart put out any feelers to potential buyers, or if international wrongdoers just knowing that he had hidden them at Maga Lardo was itself an invitation.

Well, Trump is basically a businessman, albeit a failed one, so...your guess is mine.

I don't know what an "extreme" felony is.

Now, did Trump purposefully and knowingly move top secret documents out of the White House? With the intent to retain them? It will matter to a jury if not to Trump haters on this board.

The law: (a) Whoever, being an officer, employee, contractor, or consultant of the United States, and, by virtue of his office, employment, position, or contract, becomes possessed of documents or materials containing classified information of the United States, knowingly removes such documents or materials without authority and with the intent to retain such documents or materials at an unauthorized location shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than five years, or both. [See any possible defenses there? If you say "no," do we need a trial?]

iirc: It was said that Trump was there but didn't talk to them.
Michael Cohen will probably chime in on this doozie.
Another lawyer who flips may be in the works.

He'd use a cutout, like Manafort with Kilimnick for polling data or Junior for the T**** Tower meeting, or Cohen for Stormy payoffs or Stone with the Oath Keepers for 1/6. That's the best thing about being the boss.... there's always somebody around willing to do the dirty work....

(Orange Fart not as good, BTW)

From my same CNN Timeline link, he "stopped by to say hello", but didn't participate in the full discussion or answer questions...

Ergo, he was there and should have been made to sign any documents purporting to claim ALL classified documents at MAL were accounted for....

Dude, can you ever imagine Trump not lying?

It may be surprising to you, like many things apparently, but the procedure is not for me nor for you to decide! Agreed?

Sure, but with that extra step away from the client, there's always that level of deniability (on both sides), that T**** uses every time...

Besides, I haven't seen or read this reported document, but I'm pretty sure there would be a loophole if they used the term "boxes" in there...

No, they can't. The right way to handle "an extraordinary case" is to treat it as an ordinary case.

Hasn't Michael Cohen said numerous times that no one does anything without Trump's approval?

    Propaganda gibberish by the uninformed.

The president's classification and declassification powers are broad

The president, as commander-in-chief, is ultimately responsible for classification and declassification. When someone lower in the chain of command handles classification and declassification duties -- which is usually how it's done -- it's because they have been delegated to do so by the president directly, or by an appointee chosen by the president.

The majority ruling in the 1988 Supreme Court case Department of Navy vs. Egan -- which addressed the legal recourse of a Navy employee who had been denied a security clearance -- addresses this line of authority.

"The President, after all, is the 'Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States'" according to Article II of the Constitution, the court's majority wrote. "His authority to classify and control access to information bearing on national security ... flows primarily from this constitutional investment of power in the President, and exists quite apart from any explicit congressional grant."

Steven Aftergood, director of the Federation of American Scientists Project on Government Secrecy, said that such authority gives the president the authority to "classify and declassify at will."

In fact, Robert F. Turner, associate director of the University of Virginia's Center for National Security Law, said that "if Congress were to enact a statute seeking to limit the president's authority to classify or declassify national security information, or to prohibit him from sharing certain kinds of information with Russia, it would raise serious separation of powers constitutional issues."

The official documents governing classification and declassification stem from executive orders. The current version of the order was issued by President Barack Obama in 2009.

The president has broad authority to declassify almost anything at any time without any process. The minute the president speaks about it to someone, he has the ability to declassify anything at any time without any process.

Michael Cohen: “Nothing goes on in Mar-A-Lago…without Trump’s specific knowledge”
Ever since the FBI conducted a search at Mar-A-Lago and retrieved top secret documents, Donald Trump has been trying to deflect and feign ignorance. His former personal lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen...
