Why do people vote against their own self interest?

 

I understand that we're in this together, so sometimes I vote for the common good. That's my excuse. Nutbags like her? I think people confuse sound bites with their self-interest. When I'm out in the boondocks, I am astonished that poor folks who live there convinced themselves that the orange POS is advancing their interests.

Bobert's kids were running a vehicle up and down a residential lane at more than double the speed limit. When one of the callers told them to slow down they went home and told their parents. So they (the Bobert's) get in their pickup and get confrontational with the neighbor who asked their kids to slow down. That's when the lady, you're talking about, told the 911 person they were loaded.

 

Man, such sophistication. It's like the Darling family from the "Andy Griffith Show" became rude, violent and drunk and moved to Colorado.

 

God doesn't need to forbid it but other people don't need to condone it or have to put up with it without recourse.

The people of that district will get fed up with her eventually, once they find themselves being ostracized for her antics, and that will happen.

One reason is bigotry, all you have to do is tell people they're better than others and they will empty their pockets for you as Lyndon Johnson observed.
