A little correction to that. Keeping interest rates artificially low costs money, a lot of money, and that is what causes inflation. If we want to try to tame inflation, both the government and "the Fed" has to spend less money (or tax revenues have to increase to pay for things). I think as interest rates are allowed to rise, we might start seeing home prices drop a little bit. (Well, maybe not drop, but at least not keep rising as fast due to inflation)
The recent appreciation in home prices is much more long term in building and more sustainable than the bubble that began to burst in 2006.
Most of that is due to inflation, but maybe 40% is due to investors flooding into the marketplace, trying to find a safe place to park their money (due to inflation). But that could fuel a speculative bubble.
you may wish to drop the Democrat voting line and do some research on why negative amortization loans were allowed. You will find that it lands right at the feet of Democrat lawmakers. I've got you started, now run along and find out the truth behind why negative amort loans came to be Or, just continue to spew out the garbage told to you by the media.
then we should nationalize housing, clothing and food so everyone can live at the same level of squalor. Well, everyone except politicians Vote Democrat. we'll get there
So the cost of housing rising at a rapid rate, is how you manage inflation? I'm not sure what 'economics' professor you had, but I'd be questioning what they had a degree in. Exactly how are things 'getting 'better'? Because inflation slowed a percentage (averaged) but ignoring the overall inflation the common person is dealing with? Myopic is the politest term I can use.
Why is this a bad thing? The housing market has been stupidly moronically inflated for over a decade. It's time it came back down to Earth where the rest of us live.
People will cry and whine regardless of where the housing prices are (too high or too low, it doesn't matter), but as of now homeowners are smiling. I know I am. As a matter of fact some of my neighbors have cashed out and bought RVs to find a new place. If there is a slow-down in new starts, then its good that it happens before things over-heat like it did in 2004, which ended in a total disaster 4 years later You failed to comprehend the post 100%, so one might wonder what education YOU have.
good luck finding a long-term campsite for the RV and many "RV'ers" quickly become disenfranchised when they find that the RV is not a house. We love our boat We love our motorhome But we know what they are and understand that maintenance never ends
Great idea.. then you'll have a baseline when those start coming down as well... Always thinking ahead!!
Based on their comments, they plan to travel the country until they find a place they like and settle down again. I don't see anything wrong with that given the fact that they are recently retired. Yea man. Sounds like something you would do. So exciting and all. Why not take videos of grass growing too. Sigh......
I for one am glad to see this craziness slow down. I've put off construction on a new cabin for over 2 years because material and labor was just ridiculous. I'll probably need to wait another year for the dust to settle, but looking forward to finally building this other cabin.
Many folks have tried that with respect to the rv. If they are handy, that's great. If a motorhome, they need to understand that their house requires maintenance. What do they do when it's in the shop? That's why we bought a gasser. I can work on it myself should the need arise and parts are less expensive And wrt to grocery store. I'm having some fun with one of your fellow Democrat voters.
Ah, yes, the GOP had control of both the House and the Senate for 6 years before the great depression, but it must be Democrat lawmakers' fault that the housing market crashed. I am wondering, what were Bush and Congress Republicans doing during those times, allowing minority Dems to pass such seemingly harmful legislation? Were they too stupid to stop it? Or is your revisionist version of history just full of B$? BTW: You shouldn't talk about spewing garbage when you end 90% of your posts with "Dem votes have consequences, always harmful". Clean up your own act first....
like I predicted, you refuse to educate yourself on the topic. Spew the garbage all that you want. Once again, it was Democrat votes like it always is when harm is inflicted. I do give you credit for being a loyal, Democrat voter. Loyalty is important to the Democrat party. Be sure and obey
I appreciate you sharing your point of view and I agree with you. I did not decide why you gave trump honorable mentions. I just thought it was ironic.
That is a tremendous amount of power. Do you believe they are responsibly using that power in the best interest of our workers?
especially for the folks who will be upside down. They'll love it Let them eat cake. Or did Nancy change that to ice cream? Vote Democrat and enjoy the misery
