That is exactly what I did; I retract the "smoking" question, if you found it offensive, which was not its intent, but rather to be a humorous way of saying that I saw no difference in the two scenarios, if the sexes were reversed. Do I need to link my posts, in which I explain that, unless you can contend that the woman in the photo had actually stripped down to her undies, at the pole in question, there is no reason to consider it, for practical purposes, anything other than just a pole, similar to what one might find at a jungle gym? And the woman is wearing both a bra & panties: so the equivalent of a bathing suit (which is how the beach figures in my analogy). And the little boy, is fully clothed. So, if a father (or even uncle) were at a beach, wearing his swimming trunks, with his daughter/niece, who was fully clothed, and they were playing at a kids' area there, as I have seen at beach parks, on a pole in a jungle- gym type of installation, I don't know why anyone would suspect anything sinister was taking place.

The way you emphasize the sex, it is as if your mind immediately goes to sexual molestation, by either a stranger or a family member. I don't understand this reaction, or think, without far more to go on, it is reasonable to make such an assumptive jump.

Just for some background, I have taken my young children to gay weddings. I have been there for pride parades. I would never take a young child to a pride parade. I have no issue with adults on stripper poles, or walking their mate with a leash and a dildo on their head. I draw the line at including kids.

Personally, I would prefer, for my countrymen, people who are resolved to work through our differences, with an acceptance of the concept that compromise is a necessary part of any form of group governance, rather than to be living among a horde of those who are armed to the teeth, just waiting (in almost eager anticipation) for our society's fabric to begin pulling apart at its seams.

 

I agree with most of your post. The only part I am unsure about-- while I know the African repatriation idea was once favored by Lincoln-- is whether, by the end of the Civil war, when Abe supported 40 acres and a mule to every freed slave, his thinking on the matter may have possibly changed. Can you cite any source, that goes to show that, at the time of his assassination, Lincoln had even tentative plans in the works, for the expulsion of former slaves to anywhere else? For that matter, I don't know that he had ever even been beyond the idea of offering African Americans, a free trip back to their native homeland.
