No when they FIRST entered ILLEGALLY, they are not legal at all, and the Biden administration doesn't care if they are legal or not.

My heart bleeds pure you know what hearing the governor of my state turn his big blind, hypocritical eye to the trafficking of illegal aliens into the United States by the cartels. IF he truly cared about the mistreatment of migrants who travel to this country, close our damn borders! Did he cry when families drowned or those who died from dehydration when they struggled to get to the US? Did he care when women, young and old, were being exploited, raped, pillaged, murdered in their quest to reach our country? Does he care about those who are getting ripped off by cartels and coyotes, being charged money they can't afford? Does he care about the illegal drugs pouring into our country, into his state? Does he care about me, and what I think? Hell, no. He cares about exploiting this current situation because it may advance his own party's political agenda.

Newsom couldn't care less about the plight of illegal immigrants. Ironic, that he accuses the right of making political pawns of these people while he condones illegal immigration for purposes that serves his own party's politics. What a fraud!

Newsom deserves to be dumped by CA, and severely mocked by all. What a tone-deaf hypocrite.

If they were illegal it would be against the law for these governors to ship them

What better place than Marthas Vineyard that has large homes sitting empty with many bedrooms.

Interesting point but you still miss the part where the Biden Administration isn't stopping it while the several Governors who tries to get the Biden Administration to deal with it suffers from the inflow along the border states with Mexico what to do when the Federal Government doesn't do their job?

Is that what is being said by leftists that the burden shouldn't be shared? I haven't seen lefty cities complaining they are receiving immigrants, only that some immigrants were told they were being sent to Boston to expedite the process.

2 of the top 3 states with most immigrants are New York and California, so I'm not sure where this idea that lefties aren't taking in immigrants is coming from.

The legalities of what DeSantis is doing I will leave to the lawyers. The practicality of what DeSantis is doing is about as dumb as it gets. It is just a matter of time before those that he moved away will come back to the very state, and odds are at least one of them will commit a crime. Basically undoing exactly what DeSantis claims he is trying to prevent.

You can’t stop people requesting asylum, it’s literally US law

The alternative is to just leave them all in Florida. That's worse. Even if half of them find their way back to Florida after a while, that's still half that are gone for good. Money well spent, IMHO.

Does it completely resolve all the issues caused by illegals? No, but it's an improvement over the status quo ante.

No one suggested stopping them from requesting asylum. The Migrant Protection Protocols (a.k.a. "remain in Mexico" policy) was a fine way of handling the problem. They were still allowed to request asylum, but we know the vast majority of those requests are going to ultimately be rejected (because the requestors don't qualify for asylum under the criteria outlined by US law), and they weren't turned loose inside the US while awaiting that rejection.

But Biden undid all that and decided to just turn them loose in the US until their asylum request is denied. And by the time their case finally gets heard, they'll be lost and won't be deported like they should have been.

Not only that, the hundreds, if not thousands that have died in the desert or drowned because of this comment?

DeSantis is promoting exactly what he is trying to prevent. :)

Those immigrants are now going to come to FL and TX knowing they are going to be released within the US.

Tough. States don't get to judge the performance of the Feds and certainly can't assume federal authority just because their governors want to pull political stunts
In fact, Tejas and Florida should have federal aid cut until they stop pulling these partisan political stunts.

You've got it backwards. They have already been "released within the US" by the time they get on one of DeSantis' airplanes or Abbott's buses.

Wrong. It's the fed .gov's responsibility, not the governors / states.

So posting disinformation here is a concern. But providing disinformation to people about where they're going and what is waiting for them, workwise, is not a concern?

Wherever they stayed in Texas or Florida was filled the next day by new migrants, why can't they stay in MV where they are loved?

They voluntarily got on the bus, they could have gotten off the private charter at any time.
