I call BS on that bit of nonsense.

In Mississippi, the Republican Party controls the offices of governor, secretary of state, attorney general, and both chambers of the state legislature.

    And, that is not new.

Is that why the red states are usually the poorest. BTW, I was referring to federal funds.

In USD terms, the price in the US on Sept 26 was $3.98. Here in Australia it was $5.00. In the UK, $6.65.

    Stop your whining....

Congrats you figured out why Trump worked with the saudi's to lower demand and get oil prices up. One of your fellow dems tried to use it as a bad thing that trump got the Saudi's to slow supply and cripple Russia's plan of flooding the market hurting American oil.

Biden most certainly has an effect on gas prices, see how oil went down after we used a lot of our strategic reserves, and gas prices dropped from all time highs. It's still way above Trump's gas prices and mainly because we had more oil available, and we didn't have to rely on foreign oil like we do today. He's literally the first President since WW2 to not have an oil lease sale. Even the most progressive democrat presidents understood energy is a key factor that can drive inflation up or down. Instead, Biden dug in with the progressive energy hawks and it hurt this country financially. It also has hurt Europe, where we could be shipping more natural gas with winter coming fast.

Yes, there are those who see a higher price of oil as highly profitable for themselves and/or their state.

But, it is the general public that pays for higher oil prices when they go to their local gas station.
Who did lower oil prices hurt???

It might have hurt some oil companies. But, even that is questionable.

But, it is NOT questionable that high oil prices were a major component of the inflation that American citizens have demanded to be corrected.

You need to decide who you are fighting for.

So far, it certainly is not American families.

I agree higher oil prices hurt, and zero dollar per barrel would be catastrophic. There's a middle ground and I think we agree. One of the best ways for America to lower inflation is to reduce energy and gas prices. We could've done that by supporting natural gas and oil, instead in a way only Biden can do, we let it skyrocket then got the big idea instead increases supply by drilling, we'll do it just a little by releasing the strategic reserve. This had did have a positive effect and lowered gas prices to 40% above when he took office but it also threatens our security by reducing our oil reserves in a time of world turmoil. Bottom line this administration sat on its hands, just like Afghanistan, and just like the baby formula shortage. We had a chance to keep this inflation reasonable, but when gas and energy shot up to all-time highs, the cat was out of the bag, and it stormed us right into recession and super high interest rates that will devastate future growth for years.

Nobody has been interested in having oil at $0/bbl.

We did NOT "let it skyrocket". Ours is not an economy that is controlled by government. In fact, oil prices are set by commodities markets. And, we don't control those commodities markets, either.

Prices skyrocketed because of capitalism. It was a logical response to issues of supply and demand.

Do you have dreams of ending capitalism?? What would you prefer instead??

    Try rereading again.

Their control has provided a strong dollar than blue states.

You say they are the poorest, again based on a datum of the federal average of revenue.

Yet, they have the lowest cost of living.

    This really isn't rocket science.

Wasn't arguing that, just that the notion that blue states don't pay their fair share in taxes.

I'm not even clear on what your arguing. The bottom line every President since WW2 has sought to manage gas prices to ensure the economy is stable and the people aren't hurting. Biden has been the worst at it, he has the record for the highest priced energy and gas in our history, and he also has the highest inflation since WW2. It's been a complete FAILURE.

Same argument for the past 40 years from Democrats.

For some magical reason, only Republican presidents can control high gas prices but not Democrat presidents. They are powerless but will never hesitate to take credit when prices go down a nickel or dime.

What specific move were you hoping that he would take to change the price of gas?

Republican presidents haven't controlled gas prices, either.

Trump did try to raise the price, but it wasn't particularly effective, because the Saudis weren't interested in selling less oil. After all, oil sales is how the fund their country.

I think you're having a problem with how free market capitalism works.

Red states and red districts and counties are where all the growth an improvements are happening. Blue areas have more sporadic growth or are losing people, tax revenues, and GDP. Keep on with the living in the past though

Lol..you must have forgotten how the left accused the Bush administration as the oil industry right hand. Remember the left's favorite boogeyman HALIBURTON?

    You said:
I cited growth in poor states and relatively rich states that contradicts what you said.

Now, I want to know what your response is.

    What is your NEW point?

Yes - that's why cites are important. They show more clearly how you failed.

Your cites are about growth in jobs that has taken place in the months past the pandemic.

They don't address economic success, which is shown by per capita gdp increase over time.

Remember: You were suggesting TAX changes. We would never reapportion taxes based on recovery stats for one national disaster.

I think you need to respect that GDP growth rate data I posted when considering your concern about taxes.

Biden stops his victory lap on gas prices.

Biden Washes His Hands of Gas Prices Now That They're Going Back Up.

While prices were declining 'the White House wanted the country to believe it was because of Joe Biden’s policies. But it is now clear that gas prices are trending up again.'

Biden absolutely DID work on gas prices - he increased supply by dipping into the strategic reserves.

Charging him with no doing enough is ridiculous if you can not come up with more that he could do.

So, pleased defend yourself by proposing something that you want our president to do to cause gas prices to go down.

That's not a 'solution' that's a short term stop gap of depleting reserves.

You guys don't want to solve this, you want energy austerity, and this is what it looks like. So you got what you were after, and now you are like the dog that caught the car, you have no idea what to do now, which is all the voter really needs to know.

We need solutions, and your solution is for us to shut up about it, and we aren't going to. We are a FREE PEOPLE. These are OUR national reserves. We will wrest them from the illegitimate control of the Authoritarian AGW Cult and restore our self-determination.

"Barely Making It": Aching Economy, Inflation Forcing Tough Choices

Biden and Dems have slaughtered the Golden Goose of American Prosperity.

'Americans are paying higher prices for everything from groceries to gas. The consumer price index, which measures what consumers spend on goods and services, rose 8.3% in August from a year ago.'

That is wiping out a month's pay, every year. Struggling Americans still have 12 months worth of bills but only 11 months worth of pay to cover them, and all too many Dems do is scream for everyone to shut up about it, and call any that refuse to, semi-fascists.

'With wages lagging surging inflation, household budgets are being stretched thinner than a rubber band. More than one-third of Americans said it was somewhat or very difficult to pay for household expenses'

SAVINGS DWINDLE CREDIT CARD BALANCES RISE

'Savings are dwindling and credit card debt is mounting. To get by, people are cutting back on meat for dinner and on nights out. Even kids are going without new shoes or supplies for school.'

Folks are hurting. In 36 days, vote for a return to prosperity and abundance.
