From a biblical perspective God never exempted the poor from paying their tithes. 10% was a universal amount expected for the services the Priests provided them.

Even with the government collecting from only those that can afford to pay, the poor will still be poor. For them to pay 10% of their earnings, for the services they receive isn't gonna break them. If anything perhaps the costs of goods they buy may end up being cheaper since businesses won't have to pay as much for tax accountants and compliance. Plus the 87000 new IRS agents won't be needed, saving the taxpayers more money.

 

Yeah we didn't live through "Russian collusion" for 4 years. Obama didn't use the IRS as a weapon and sell guns to drug cartels.

My first question is why this isn't a discussion of mr Biden? It seems entirely clear that threads like this are a distraction from the now pretty obvious criminality of the current administration, and the need to do anything to deflect from it. So, we have "but what about orange man bad" threads instead.

My comment would be, if we have to look historically, why isn't this also about how the Obama folks actually did this, and Louis was allowed to slink away.. But hey, orange man bad, still dominates the thinking of the left. My second question is, given the acceptance by our lefty friends that this behavior was okie dokie then, and now. It does seem pretty problematic then that pointing out this from a lefty perspective is just as damning to the current administration that is using the IRS in this fashion.

It basically comes down to Kelly's word against Trump's in the end though. Also, the IRS denies ever doing a revenge audit for partisans.

If true, it's not right but what proof do you have that indicates anyone was audited because of Trump's revenge?
