Trump is within his rights to take advantage of all areas of the law to protect his interests. That's not obstructing any investigation.
Yes, the same way you claimed the Russian Hoax was a RW conspiracy talking point and then it turned out it really was a hoax. Or that the Hunter Biden laptop was a right wing conspiracy and a Russian disinformation campaign and it turns it was all true. lol Funny how all of these left wing crimes turn out to be true.
he within his rights, but as in this case, it wasn't justified. The appeals court is reigning in reckless Cannon, which is a good thing.
A hoax? So russia didn’t meddle to help him? Every level of govt confirmed that. Just another conspiracy against trump I guess.
Also court cases would be backed up for years. "The law is clear," the judges found. "We cannot write a rule that allows any subject of a search warrant to block government investigations after the execution of the warrant. Nor can we write a rule that allows only former presidents to do so."
Indeed! Having your lawyers travel 70 miles to a court house and somehow finagle for a judge (Cannon) who was appointed by your client ,Trump, sure raises eyebrows and should be investigated. When Trump filed his motion against Hillary/Russia it was filed locally where he lives in Miami. iirc: That case of his was tossed out and Hillary is now suing for hers and the other defendants in the case's attorney fees.
Using every legal avenue isn't justified? If you're exercising a right it's justified. The Appeal Court did no such thing. It just granted the government a stay order.
Cannon gave Trump a special master while average citizens would not get one.. 'Florida federal Judge Aileen Cannon ‘slammed’ by appeals court in Trump case' Snip: "She did so despite expressing initial doubts in her own ruling about intervening in the politically charged case. In a scathing ruling issued Thursday night, a federal appellate court in Atlanta found she should have heeded her first legal concerns. A three-judge panel, all Republican-appointees like Cannon, reversed her decision to name a “special master” because she had no authority to do so and effectively killed the case as legal experts consider a potential appeal unlikely to succeed. The ruling from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, several South Florida and other legal experts said, left little room for argument. “The key point is that Judge Cannon had no jurisdiction to do anything here,” said Mark Schnapp, a former federal prosecutor and longtime Miami criminal defense attorney. “She tried to assert equitable jurisdiction [to appoint the special master], but her own opinion showed why her analysis was defective “Her opinion got ripped to shreds by the Eleventh Circuit Court,” he said". cont: https://archive.ph/Mzs6J
HOW can you prove that whatever is on the Biden laptop is true? PLEASE answer this. I'd REALLY like to know how info found on a laptop in a repair shop, which could have been put on by anyone, is verified apparently beyond doubt.
The appeals court said the granting of the Special Master was not justified. They are reigning in Cannon by overruling her callous disregard of established law. Trump sued to prevent the DOJ from reviewing certain documents. Trump and his lawyer Cannon were overruled. Loss for team trump.
Have you seen the videos of him doing crack and banging hookers? I have. They are all over the internet. Are you saying the laptop is fake?? Unreal. Even video evidence and the far left tries to dismiss it all away.
Russia meddled to help Hillary. They could buy her off like they did in the past. Trump was tougher on Russia than Obama or Bush. Didn't Obama use Russia, Great Britian and Australia to help him with the Russian Hoax? Or am I missing another foreign entity? Operation Crossfire Hurricane. "potus wants to know everything"
That's how our system works. But even this judicial ruling may be reviewed. I doubt it though. Even though the ruling seems to be correct one never knows. I'm sure Connors believed she was on solid ground with her orders.
So one primary point I have with this(and I read an article in the New Yorker about this), is that I don't believe any criminal defendant can in good faith trust the filter team. The DOJ has exclusive property ownership over everything it seized, and the idea that in good faith that it will preserve those items that do not pertain to its criminal investigation is utterly laughable. It's the good ole fox guarding the hen house situation. That in of itself is reason enough for an independent review. The 'filter' team isn't independent and neither is special counsel Smith. This is the kind of case that calls for arbitration, and one could argue that the appointment of the special masters was such arbritation in effect. The issue ended up becoming that Dearie decided that he'd just preemptively concur with the government(as is the case with all of the other rulings afterwards) and therefore arbitration became nonexistent. The problem I have with the court system, among other things is they rely too much on case dockets, and forgetting the principle of why courts and civil disputes exist in the first place.
If I'm not mistaken part of the purpose of a SM was to determine which documents the government was entitled to and which it was not. It seems this court didn't care, which makes it troublesome.
Two things: 1. It is the job of the ultimate Trial (if any) Judge/Jury to decide the ownership of property which is the subject of a charge of theft, not some intervening interloper unlawfully appointed to make that determination. 2. Cannon's unlawful order went much further than that. It stopped the DOJ investigation in its tracks. I highly recommend reading the Appeal Court's decision.
