The media has not ignored drugs at all. I've seen stories about the narcotics epidemic for years and years. This is not real, it is a made up attempt to smear the media and the left, made all the more stupid by the fact that there are plenty of legitimate things to criticize them for.

When there is a mass shooting, no matter how many are killed, the coverage goes on for days for the same mass coverage. Show me where drugs are covered in the same way.

Why would they be? People who die from drug overdoses have largely done it to themselves. People who die in mass shootings do not.

Every parent of a child who died in an fentanyl overdose or a school shooting have something in common.

They all would rather their child have eaten too many weed gummies instead.

By all means, hand them drugs when they are young. The fact that they do not know any better makes it OK.

It's only 2.30pm here so I can't answer what will or won't be on the 6 o'clock news yet.

 

I used to live in Southern California, even went to LA schools and I can assure you every area of the school district isn't "riddled with gangs and drugs," so I don't know about the individual school in the OP. Did they street-proof their kids? How would I know?

Outrage about what? You can't expect a school to stop kids from handing out edibles--the way I assume the ten kids were able to obtain the pot.

I taught high school students and adults for three decades, so I don't "do" outrage. If I did, I would have had a stroke years ago.

Yes, we should talk to kids about drugs. But I think it's a mistake to equate guns in a school with drugs.

We had a kid point his hands as though he had a handgun and said "Bang! Bang!" at a teacher who was a guy you aren't surprised kids didn't like. The Admin told the staff he gave the kid a good "talking to" and a couple of days at home. We on the staff told the principal that wasn't good enough and that he would have to do more. He refused. I was sent in as the staff rep to talk to the principal who decided he would suspend the kid for a good long stretch when I informed him that all 100+ staff members were going to ask the union to complain to the school board office.

Guns are more serious that pot. But like I said, we should be talking to kids about drugs and not confusing drug use with other issues.

P.S. Conservative kids smoke pot, too.

 

It did and so did alcohol use. Some revisionists claim we could have won the war on alcohol if we had kept Prohibition, but I don't see it.

Not really since bootleggers had to substitute ingredient's and they were not always fit for human consumption.
