I rather doubt it. A bill of attainder is essentially finding someone guilty of a crime via legislation, as opposed to a trial by a jury of their peers, or a plea bargain. I'm not sure being stripped of your security clearance would count, as it's not a criminal conviction or punishment. Though, if this bill were to pass, which I doubt even though I don't think the man deserves to be on a City Council, much less a Member of the House, I seriously doubt. Should I be wrong about that, I suspect it will take a Judicial ruling to determine if you are correct or not.

I wouldn't mind finding out.

 

Does it make any meaningful difference if it's just a plain old lie, as opposed to a 'notorious' one? Linguistically speaking, I believe the word 'notoriously', as used in the sentence you have repeatedly questioned applies to the person speaking the lies in question, not the lies themselves. Either way, it makes no material difference whether that word is used in this case or not. The man straight up fabricated information he claimed to be in possession of, and got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Whether or not it was a notorious cookie, he was still stealing cookies he wasn't supposed to have.

If a couple of fibs bother you, I take it you will not vote for Trump, or anyone, because just about all politicians have told a lie or two.

In my view, a couple of fibs is nothing. Anyone can get facts wrong, or distort facts. But, when the lies are huge and are delivered by a veritable fire hose on the public, such as Trump does, that's worthy of criticism.

I mean, given that trump and his cohorts contacted Russia over 140 times, that Trump spoke to Putin in secret, that Trump allowed to Russian spies in the oval office, and he didn't allow any American staff in the room, it's not unreasonable to have come to that conclusion. Given these facts, I didn't actually think he was coordinating with Russia, but I did believe, and still do, that he was Putin's 'useful idiot', or has Hillary so aptly stated, 'Putin's Puppet". That much is true.

A lie is to know something if false, and continue to tell it.

Getting facts wrong is not lying.
