TN: Tyre Nichols was 'defenseless' during his 'savage' beating by police, attorneys say

So I (regrettably) watched the video over the weekend and am glad to see that the general consensus all over on this is that those cops are nothing less than a bunch of *******s who need to be put under the jail cell.

 

Beaten to death means he was beaten and died as a result of the injuries he suffered during the beating. Which is what happened here.
So yeah, he was beaten to death, even if death occurred three days later.

 

The Lucifer Effect, is how it started. The 5 black cops were essentially a lynch mob, and obviously racism had nothing to do with it.

 

Try keeping up on the evidence that's available before making your wishful thinking false claims.
Cops also used the old "he's on drugs" routine to the medics.

Chauvin used that excuse when told Floyd has no pulse and he still kept his knee on his neck cause drugs could give Floyd super human strength.
22.5 yrs for Chauvin and 21 yrs for violating George Floyds Civil Rights.
These 5 thugs are also looking at serious time.

Yes. Anecdote. That’s exactly what it is. Stats demonstrate officers overwhelmingly do the right thing and overwhelmingly are the good guys.

This discussion has certainly contained an element of lynch mob.

 

I understand the communistic driven anti authority movement in our society. Everything the Officers did was precipitated by Nichols behavior. Nichols broke the law the entire way. The Officers did their sworn duty the entire way but apparently went too far in owing to the escalation of emotions caused by Nichols behavior. Yes the Police are culpable. But not to the extent of deserving a public hanging, which from my perspective is what is playing out, as the escalation of emotion continues.

 

Of course there was no racism. This is a perfect example that in the US there is 100% equality in Black and White police behavior.

 

Video evidence doesn't really need to be "evaluated" by a jury.

2) IF there are no easy opportunities to faciliate (consequence-free) rape by shaking down women for sex at Traffic Stops

If all that were true the 5 evil thugs wouldn't be charged with 2nd degree murder and kidnapping etc.

 

Just to be clear, I'm not suggesting the cops were part of or working for a gang, some woman did and I posted it here. In my mind what makes that possible is the five cops seemed more intent on dishing out punishment than restraining him - 5 hefty cops should not have a problem restraining a 140 pound man. And if anything makes the gang theory a little more plausible was the kick to the head.

I have no idea why these cops beat that kid to death.

 

Since you posted the "gang" post a woman from Memphis who was being interviewed said that the crime rate is so high there and having black cops as role models for youths is vital and here we have 5 cops acting like gang members.

That video was hard to watch. Especially when he is calling out for his Mother. The footage that isn't from the body cams, the street cam footage shows some brutal stuff. Especially other cops coming in out of the blue to get a kick in. I don't think there's anyway these guys can get out of it. The video shows clear INTENT

 

Maybe they'll get the same jury that Rodney king had and they'll all get off Scot free

They aren't "five evil thugs". They are five Police Officers who allowed one willful man to press all their buttons with his behavior, and to abandon their better judgment. Nichols is as responsible for his own death as are they, imo. Don't forget that it is every Officers duty to apprehend and subdue those going contrary to the law. And everything that Nichols did was contrary to the law and to good citizenship. He is nobody's hero.

 

I'm guessing you did not see the entire RK vid, his buddy in the front seat got out and complied and no one laid a finger on him.

 

Much like the Rodney King episode.
