Long before the balloon got near this country China should have been warned to keep it the F out. If that warning was ignored then it should have been shot down over the pacific. Why didn’t that happen?

same reason Bush did not listen to the warnings about 911 I imagine, too much information, and it takes too long to get to the right people

and then what do you do, it's a UFO, no one knows if American or what

Too bad you’re stuck here on this backwater forum and not “in charge”, then, huh?

Even more puzzling: as world renowned an expert on international diplomacy as you are-- why didn't Joe call, for your advice, on what we should do?

A science test that just so happened to track above a lot of sensitive areas in the united states?

    How convenient for the China!

He didn’t call me because Biden was keeping the balloon a secret. Now why would he do that?

Common sense? It took one missile to take it down, comparing it to Canadian troubles 25 years ago is actually pretty stupid.

An F-22 jet fighter engaged the high-altitude balloon with one missile - an AIM-9X - and it went down about six nautical miles off the US coast at 14:39 EST (19:39 GMT), a defence official told reporters.

They could have **** it down over the Pacific. The Governor of Montana told them PLEASE shoot it down over Montana's uninhabited regions. They could have done it over Alaska's barren regions. They could have sent Tom Cruise up to jump on it and slowly release the gas. And they could have brought it down in a controlled manner on a predict trajectory. We the people need an explaination as to why the Biden administration allowed itnti completely transverse the country being steered some of our highly classified locations. The first thing is a full briefing for the Congressional "Gang of Eight".

Tell something why even waste the cost of the F-22 cost of the missile to so afterthe fact when it didn't matter anymore?

I hope that the CIA and DOD were able to fry the circuits but then it it is reported that it was under some remote control which would mean they didn't. We have no idea what equipment is on it and capabilities and we could have.

I think we shouldn't have to do so we should have brought it down in a controlled descent in a barren area.

What's the point of even bringing it down now?

I care more about what the government's going to do next. Sanction the hell out of the Chinese government. Put the tariffs back on, make them feel the pain. Or the Biden Government will continue to look weak to China.

Because they spied on us, and god knows what they're going to do with that data or planned to do with it. It's clear that China is an aggressor, and we should respond in kind.

    https://indianexpress.com/article/world/chinese-spy-balloon-spotted-united-states-pentagon-8421103/

"The defense official said the spy balloon was trying to fly over the Montana missile fields, but the US has assessed that it has “limited” value in terms of providing China intelligence it couldn’t already collect by other means, such through spy satellites."

While I fully acknowledge the second part of this quote, doesn't discount it's path.

When did this story first break and when was it known the balloon was about to enter US air space?

With a balloon. Why would some country try to spy on another with an uncontrollable, slow moving, relatively low flying object when they simple use a satellite?

Cool. How does one control the path of a balloon?

More than likely what ever info the balloon was collecting was sent up to satellites in real time. Biden let them come in, take what they wanted, and then leave.

I wish I had a nickel for every time you posted that same tweet and every time you brought up the bad orange man in a thread that is completely unrelated.... I could have retired 10 years before I was born
