Some Republicans have wanted two new types of taxes since 1970. Nixon wanted the Value Added Tax (VAT). Other Republicans have wanted the fair flat income tax or a national sales tax. Bush mentioned neither of them in his speech. If you want to defend Bush, go ahead. I won’t. It’s why I voted for him without enthusiasm. He’s not in your party so I don’t understand your interest. And the election was over 30 years ago.
Same sort of thing as I linked to with Dave Rubin... just people on Twitter asking her and then her tweeting out a response to them... not a formal press conference or anything. It's amazing how much can be learned from following people's tweets even a sliver of as much as every letter of every Trump tweet was followed. From people who are not RINOS and who oppose globalism. For instance, much of Trump's donations come from a huge slew of small donors (under $200/each). IOW, from We The People.
Also, didn't Trump lose because he couldn't win enough independents? (At least the official story, which I know you don't accept.) Well independents who voted for Biden obviously had no enthusiasm for him and voted for him purely as an anti-Trump vote. It seems that this was the case with plenty of registered Democrats too. So even if COVID did not exist, it's possible that he would have had pathetic crowd sizes at his rallies, but still won the election.
I think a bit of common sense must prevail. There are extremes both way in regulations. The key is to find common or the middle ground. One can go overboard with regulations or one can deregulate to a point where the populace is at risk or taken advantage of. I know of no one who wants to deregulate, do away with every regulation on business. That’s a red herring so to speak. Now I do belief we’ve entered a political era that totally lacks common sense. It’s an all or nothing era. It’s like medicine. The right amount will cure what ails you. No medicine, you die from the disease, too much medicine, you die from an overdose. All or nothing usually doesn’t work.
of course ... an informed electorate = those able to pass the test .. + a free/fair media .. are going to vote completely different .. we would not have the system as it is now - it would not have gotten this bad ..not slid so far down the slippery slope of fallacious utilitarianism. three terms that folks "MUST KNOW" and understand in context of a constitutional republic in order to pass the test. That is 50% of the test pretty much two or 3 concepts .. and related terms .. bob's your uncle. Not one in 10 can pass .. has any clue what on friggen earth Im talking about above .. do you ? Why is "Utilitarianism"/ utilitarian justification for law an anathema to a constitutional republic.. What is a constitutional Republic .. What is its point and purpose.
So Trump would have won? You're too politically intellectual for me man! I assume that this wouldn't be one of your questions in your 'voting test' which you said would be "easy!" I note that your question has a premise which not everyone would agree with I'm sure -- that utilitarian justification for law IS an anathema to a constitutional republic. Well I can go to Google for that. Seems that would be subjective.
Nope .. you are a bit lost here. That peoples individual choices will change doesn't mean they will hold the other side of some black vs white paradigm in the future. You are committing some kind of time dialation fallacy .. similar to the "any fool can fortell the past" trope .. but in a different way .. and not calling anyone a fool here .. sans the fellow in the example With an informed electorate ... a reality TV show star and buffoon .. would never have made it through the primaries .. gazillions of violations that have happened ... would not likely have happened .. or at least a whole lot less. We might have a system with more than 2 parties .. and there is always the choice to sit on the couch. The point going deer in headlights here is that without informed populace plus free and fair media -- no such thing as a functional democratic process .. as the person has not the wit nor the information to make informed choice .. so is going to choose bad things .. things which will end up harming that individual and society
Hey Nikki, what about your "term limits" be put on SCOTUS Justices and judges too not just politicians? Nikki 's "10 min test "solution is as stupid and useless and Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No". Nikki Haley @NikkiHaley Politicians & judges make important decisions every day that affect millions of Americans. It's not too much to ask those 75+ to take a simple 10 minute test to make sure they're up for the job. This is about transparency. This is about giving the American people the facts. This is about transparency. 8:16 AM · Feb 24, 2023 · 40.5K Views
With an informed electorate, are there any other candidates from the past 20 years that you think would never have made it through the primaries, or at least would never have become President?
Owens moves her checker vying for a VP crown. DeSantis? Her very late defense of Lemon questions her motive. She has said she won't vote for Haley and the PAB Trump offended her.lol 'Candace Owens Defends Don Lemon And We Didn't See That One Coming' 'She also referred to the GOP as "snowflakes," and honestly we can't look away.' Snips: “People are gonna force me to actually defend Don Lemon for saying something that simply made sense,” Owens remarked. “People are outraged.” She continued: “Don Lemon might lose his job. In fact, they’re going to now make him take diversity and inclusion courses. He’s facing all of this pressure because he’s clearly sexist, right...I’m sorry, what was wrong with what Don Lemon just said? Is it the part that it happens to be true? It’s not allowed at CNN? Why is everybody acting so offended by the fact that he basically said water is wet?” "Owens went on to comment that if Donald Trump made the same observation, no one would bat an eye: “Here’s the best part about the conservatives that are taking the bait on this, what if Trump had said that?We would have been like, ‘So true, Mr. President,’ because it’s so true. Now all of a sudden, Don Lemon says it and we’re pretending that we need to be hysterical and crying about it. Give me a break. This is going into the category of me wondering whether or not conservatives are accidentally becoming what they hate, right? Are we becoming the snowflakes?” It’s true that Trump has managed to lower the conservative political bar, but as Owens (of all people) should know: the GOP loves hypocrisy so much that they don’t care if it contradicts their own actions or beliefs." cont: https://www.theroot.com/candace-owens-defends-don-lemon-and-we-didnt-see-that-o-1850148337
$200,000 dollars and pre-approved questions for Nikki Haley lost her Candy gal's support. How much does Owen charge to spew?
Few would make it .. better question is "who would have" .. better question yet .. who would have gotten re-elected.
Saywha? Haley's already known for doing the exact same thing since announcing her 2024 run and then using whatever was said about her to raise money. 'A Brief History of Nikki Haley's Biggest Flip Flops on Trump' '2016 campaign' "Haley was sharply critical of Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign." “Every time someone criticizes him, he goes and makes a political attack back,” Haley said in 2015. “That’s not who we are as Republicans. That’s not what we do.” cont: https://time.com/6252040/nikki-haley-donald-trump-relationship-history/
Cause what Candy says checks all the boxes of what has been discussed on this thread. That's why...lol
