Can't say one way or the other if Trump knowingly carries water for the Robber Barons or not - given how much they attack him, and that he actually did some good things while in office, he's more good than bad. That said, you don't understand the game. You can't see beyond Republican bad, Democrat good. The Robber Barons aren't partisan, although the Democratic Party is bought and paid for, and infinitely more useful to them simply based on the destructive nature of their agenda. Republicans are more useful to them in foreign matters. Domestically, the job of the Republican leadership is simple - make sure the pro-America crowd doesn't get in the way of the Democrats.
I an not going to defend the old republican party. They suck. Its the new republicans who are pushing for the change and holding their feet to the fire. People like MTG an gaetz
The economic bubble is going to pop, either when it's large, or later when it's so huge we will never recover from it. Either way, we have to cut. There are actually a lot of places to cut. And cutting military and bringing home the men and women who served would help Americans more than anything.
They'll just keep the political football in play til the last minute and then do what they always do- print more money. That way, instead of ditectly taxing you more and risking your ire, they tax you indirectly by making your money worth less. Then they tell you its the banks' fault or wall street's fault (which are both also mostly true, but congress still has to authorize it) and hope you dont get wise to the game until after a cheeseburger costs a wheelbarrel of money and their safely out of office sitting on a big pile of real estate.
A. I am not a Democrat. B. The Solution is a Budget Committee made up of independent CPA and Tax Attorneys that will perform the following functions: First, forensic accounting audits on all budget items, second, manage the federal budget, which includes expenditures and taxes, and third, a combination of specific tax cuts to encourage spending and investment on certain industries and specific tax raises, elimination of certain loopholes, and restrict certain expenditures mostly on the business side of the tax equation. C. Eliminate all gerrymandering and create more balance congressional districts within each state. D. Make it easier for third parties to gain petitions on a national scale instead of a state-by-state basis. This will accomplish three things, make the Constitutional Republic and its Democratic Principles not swayed too much by one party or the other, get rid of the "extremists" on both sides of the aisle, and get rid of the foxes who are guarding the hen house inside the hen house when it comes to the budget.
It's easy to say "there are a lot of places to cut" without doing the math. Come on, give it a try, it might be fun. Of course, our politicians rely on voters who don't want to, or can't do the math, but who just want to complain. These voters are easy pickings.
Trump raised the debt more than any other President ever has in 4 years, in fact 25% of the current debt occurred under his watch yet you can't blame him for the debt, must be those dems
Democrats don't control the house and when they do, the party leaders will do their own thing. My plan is neither Democrat nor Republican, but it does get the job done while stepping on everyone's toes.
No, you're like a street protester chanting simplistic slogans. Orangeman bad, Republicans bad!! When the Robber Barons decide to collapse the system, they'll tell you who to blame, and you'll obey. It's sad.
I’d like introduce a ‘novel’ concept. People are responsible for the choices they make. Kevin McCarthy and the House Republican caucus are not victims. The “by the balls” narrative implies that they are. It is a false narrative and also quite a lazy media narrative. It also implies a competent alternative, e.g. if not for than…There is no alternative. This is the state of the Republican Party and they need to be held to account for their behavior. The Media shouldn’t be making excuses it only prolongs the inevitable.
It is Biden and the Dems trying to force a government shutdown with their intransigence over the matter.
Dem plan = be obstinate and threaten a government shutdown unless a clean debt limit increase is passed and promise to discuss spending cuts later. Never discuss spending cuts and let us hit the debt ceiling again. Repeat ad Infinium. Didn't we learn that with Bush41?
The Reps did so in the late 1990's and almost did so in the mid-2000 but the Dems took back the Congress. They did so without such "deep cuts". Both were VERY good times economically.
Don't tell me they will raid the Social Security trust fund! Republicans in DC will be all for stopping payments, though.
Some of you will need to familiarize yourself with interest rate - debt spiral phenomena. If lenders are afraid government might have trouble paying, then they become reluctant to keep lending to government and interest rates go up. When interest rates go up, that's going to make it a lot harder for government to deal with its debt. That debt will get expensive. This will make lenders more worried about whether government can pay it back. So you see how this can all snowball very quick into a death spiral. They can of course always print more money to try to pay off the debt, but that causes inflation, and also sends interest rates higher. (Who would want to lend if the money that you will get back is worth less than it was when you paid it?) Inflation can hurt a country's credit rating just like a default can. So that is yet another way that inflation could cause interest rates to increase. And what the stupid don't understand, the higher interest rates naturally are, the more expensive it becomes for the government controlled Central Bank to try to lower interest rates. In other words, if government wants to try to keep interest rates down, it just accelerates the rate of inflation even more. So trying to lower interest rates through a Central Bank (like "the Fed") is not a way that can help stop inflation, or solve this problem.
‘WOKE, WEAPONIZED, WASTEFUL:’ 'That’s the description of federal spending that House Republicans are targeting in their coming showdown with the Biden White House on raising the debt ceiling, according to Rep. Josh Brecheen (R-Okla.), a member of the House Budget Committee.' Lying Biden Claims it's about Social Security/Medicare when those are off the table, and to the extent that Biden is aware of anything, he knows that, but lies his ass off. 'hundreds of billions in Diversity-Equity-Inclusion/Social 'Justice' programs'.
Since you have decided to go with the old 'wasteful spending' argument, with Social Security/Medicare off the table, I'm forced to counter with the argument that there are no cuts to make outside of Social Security/Medicare that make a difference. Sure, blame 'woke,' but ultimately that doesn't make a difference.
But a $Billions here, and $Billions there, and the first thing you know you are talking about serious money. The brief debt ceiling agreement to bridge us to 9/30/2023 is not the place to make entitlement reforms.
