If I recall correctly, the AMA pulled some boners with the China virus and ensuing vaccine.

 

I think it is possible there could be a compromise--with enough creative thinking and thoughtfulness about the specific details--but unfortunately neither side seems willing to compromise, or view this in terms of anything other than a black and white issue.

It's become a politically polarized issue, and so probably reason will not prevail.

In my opinion, the U.S. needs to bring in some Japanese consultants and independent physicians, who have no prior ideological bias, have them examine the issues, investigate and give their recommendations. Japanese society does not really hold any views about this type of thing, and their culture is no-nonsense about these sexual issues.

I'm curious to know how young those on the Left would begin hormone blockers. 8 years old? 7 years old? Do they have to wait till 11? Or 12?

If a girl has just begun to grow boobs the previous year, is it acceptable to have them surgically removed... even though they aren't that big, even though they only started a year ago, and even though she's already on hormone blockers so they won't grow any bigger?

That surgery leaves some nasty and unsightly scar tissue. Okay to have this done at 13?
Even if she doesn't have the approval of her parents? (I know those on the Left want free government funding to pay for this)

Is it okay to start a 12 year old girl off with male hormones, even though that could give her more manly body characteristics and a deep voice, which are not reversible?
I saw one video where a 20 year old trans (born a girl) was beginning to suffer a receding hairline and hair thinning, due to the male hormones. That may not be entirely or easily reversible.

Maybe off topic but I looked up the laws in Japan. You had to be 20 years old before you could get the procedure, but they recently lowered it to 18 last year.

(Although I think that might be without the consent of their parents, not sure)
