When even local news is calling out the mental fortitude of the senator, then there is probably a real issue here. She is not only doing a disservice to her constituents, unable to really represent, but also seems that if she is this mentally unfit, she should not not be voting that could dictate policy for the entire United States. We emphatically need term limits or at least a max age limit to serve and or meet minimum cognitive requirements.
So did Chuck Grassey (R), Richard Shelby (R) and Jim Inhofe (R) she is no longer a youth, that's for sure. The voters will decide if she is mentally unfit. The important thing is that she is not a danger to democracy, to the electoral system, and that she does not promote authoritarianism.
She needs to retire for Christ's sake. Congress should not be a freaking retirement home. 88 damn years old go away!
If she is mentally unfit as her cognitive abilities are no longer there, that means she is no longer voting on behalf of her constituents, but either on behalf of her senate colleagues or her staff. Neither of which were elected by the state of California. And ANY senator (or elected official for that matter) that has cognitive decline, regardless of what alpha resides behind their name, should be forced to retire. Again, a simple cognitive test would show if she is capable or not. If not, then the Governor can appoint a replacement of his liking until her seat is up for reelection in 2024.
This is not a bad idea. Maybe give her the same test as Trump. If she finds the elephant in the picture, she's able to continue her work.
Yes, she should have to take the same test as that of Trump did. I do find it cute, however, that you think that that is all the test infers. It is a simple cognitive test, but it is highly effective in determining ones mental fortitude.

Babylon Bee reports that she is stepping away from the Judiciary committee and toward the bright light.
She has a medical condition called Shingles. That is not a mental issue, but a medical one in which she may have developed complications that is not being reported. It also means, as a child, she got chicken pox.
And Pelosi, and Waters, and Shiela Jackson Lee, and AOC…who am I missing? An oldie but goodie is Alan Grayson.
How is Fancy Nancy "knockers" Pelosi holding up these days? Is her head still in the game, I don't think so. The democrat's Old Guard is on its last pull off the bottle. And, just who are these new young democrats that will fill the cartoonishly large shoes of retiring outgoing democrats?
Feinstein has been a U.S. Senator since 1993 and she getting up there. She should step down next year
Anyone that wins the vote is fit enough to serve. I support term limits to curb the corruption that's clearly inherent in public service. Not age limits tho. Should be just any adult that the people will vote for.
Why retire when you and your staff can try to keep collecting a pay check until Jan 2025? She should have retired a few years ago when it was becoming obvious that her mental abilities were declining. For all we know her staff is completely in charge. . .
