What post numbers in this thread were you referring to? Why was The Negro Project distinguished and segregated from the main work of the Birth Control League? Why not just call it part of the Birth Control League? That's just your opinion. You don't know for sure. Perhaps it The Negro Project was simply named that in order to prevent the Birth Control League from being tainted in the racist opinion of Margaret Sanger.
Margaret Sanger was a militant feminist who devoted her life to legalizing birth control and making it universally available for women. Women in the 1930s had no right to abortion and she was determined to change that. But at the same time, her Negro Project was designed to control the black population for the sake of race improvement, which may make her a racist, and she was associated with the Klan as well.
none, but I am certainly not going to repeat myself in EVERY thread you ask the same things over and over again. It wasn't it was one of the many project instigated and run by the Birth Control League. http://amlmskeptic.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/the-thats-just-your-opinion-fallacy.html correct and neither do you. apart from the fact that Sanger was not racist and despite your repeating it you still haven't managed to provide anything to support that assertion apart from misrepresentation, out of context quotations, cherry picking, guilt by association, assuming the premise and confirmation bias.
Rubbish .. there is nothing in anything Sanger did or said that even suggest a racist motive. Her "association" with the KKK was purely as a speaker talking about birth control.
This is just a right wing lie to clear Sanger's filthy name. - - - Updated - - - if anything she was trying to get KKK members to kill their children.
I suggest you study some history concerning Sanger, if you did you would discover that she had nothing to do with the Negro project after the initial ideas and helping raise funds. so contraception "kills children" now does it
Perhaps I have the wrong end of the stick then .. please accept my apologise. None that I know off "kills children"
Eugenics should be popular now. Those with IQ's below 100 are more prolific than people with IQ's above 100. While this is happening, computer technology and automation are eliminating jobs those of below average intelligence are able to learn. Unfortunately, the Nazi movement discredited the cause of eugenics. Ironically the Nazi effort to exterminate the most superior race in existence led to the belief that there are no inferior races and no inferior people.
Eugenics is based on the notion that those who can barely take care of themselves should maybe refrain from creating more. The Christian moralists seem to have a problem that somehow
It is not only the Christian moralists. Those on the secular left like to pretend that IQ differences do not exist, or do not matter. They think that in a perfect society, e.g. one run by them, everyone would get a good environment, and everyone would be intelligent and good.
ha y What in bloody Hell does IQ have to do with this? Are you maintaining that we should incarcerate all people below a certain IQ or what? The Constitution makes no mention whatsoever of IQ. An autistic congenital idiot has the same exact rights as do you, (and maybe he should have a few more)
Was Sanger a racist? None of us are ever going to be able to get inside her mind to know, but the evidence seems convincing to me that she was racist. Plan Parenthood of Greater NY must agree since in 2020 the released this statement: Planned Parenthood of Greater New York Announces Intent to Remove Margaret Sanger’s Name from NYC Health Center https://www.plannedparenthood.org/p...-margaret-sangers-name-from-nyc-health-center “The removal of Margaret Sanger’s name from our building is both a necessary and overdue step to reckon with our legacy and acknowledge Planned Parenthood’s contributions to historical reproductive harm within communities of color,” said Karen Seltzer, Board Chair at PPGNY. “Margaret Sanger’s concerns and advocacy for reproductive health have been clearly documented, but so too has her racist legacy. There is overwhelming evidence for Sanger’s deep belief in eugenic ideology, which runs completely counter to our values at PPGNY. Removing her name is an important step toward representing who we are as an organization and who we serve.”
I think sterilization should be a requirement for qualifying for welfare benefits. If we do not do that I want to cut the welfare budget to the greatest extent possible, and I want to increase the harshness of the criminal justice system to the greatest extent possible. I have always been an enthusiast for capital and corporal punishment. Capital punishment has eugenic benefits. So does ending welfare payments for single mothers with illegitimate children. I would like to de criminalize police brutality. I would tell the police, "Your job is to make life safe for decent people. How you do it is up to you."
Generally speaking I am liberal on economic and environmental issues, and conservative on the issues of race and criminal justice. Prior to 1964 I would be easily recognizable as a New Deal Democrat. I think the civil rights legislation and the War on Poverty were well intended mistakes.
