Seems rioting, destruction, and other violent conduct is acceptable to that MAGA gang. They demonstrated that they have no respect for the buildings that conduct the business of the gov't. They also demonstrated that they have no self respect either.
I see choices for both sides. Maybe the choice you were missing was that the rioters were criminals but it wasn't Trumps fault? Saying the election was stolen seems to be a common belief for the right, but perhaps less mainstream than just condemning the rioters but saying it wasn't Trumps fault they rioted.
Cite me one incident from the '60s and '70s that was similar to January 6th, the first time a Confederate Flag was ever displayed in the Capitol.
What are you saying? So you want Trump to kill Nancy Pelosi to see if he'll claim immunity? Worrying about Trump killing Nancy Pelosi is akin to worrying about Martians invad Who the hell cares about someone flying a flag? It doesn't destroy any property. It doesn't harm anyone. It doesn't cause any damage. It may bother some people's oversensitive sensitivities... but... so what? Kaepernick disrespects the flag when he kneels rather than stands for the national anthem. Does that bother you too?
Trump is accountable for the January 6th unpleasantness. America will hold him accountable through the process of an election. Now that more facts are in, the American public isn't buying the mainstream media's and Democratic Party's narrative. Currently, Trump is projected to beat Biden by over 100 electoral college votes. The American public is concerned about the economy, inflation, the disaster at the border, and by and large, they care very little about January 6th. If you want Trump to win in 2024, then you have to hope the Democrats waste a lot of time and effort going on about January 6th.
Trump should accept the consequences for his actions. That's all I'm going to say for now on this matter.
I think you know my point, but I'll reiterate it. The Supreme Court delayed the 1/6 trial because they chose to take on the case of Trump's immunity, despite the fact that the DC District Court laid it out easily for them to reject. When ask if Trump would have immunity if he had a Navy Seal team assasinate his opponent, Trump's lawyer said "Yes". Ridiculous, so take it to the next level of ridiculous. Could Trump murder Nancy Pelosi on national TV and have immunity? A Confederate flag in the capitol. I care.
I'm sure if the tables were turned, Republicans would drop it if the Democrats were the sore losers and hatched a stolen elector plot.. Hell, they're busy wasting taxpayer dollars on continuing to investigate Hunter, who isn't running for president.
So, using your reasoning, we should immediately arrest a spectator at a ball game that yells "KILL THE UMPIRE!" and charge him with murder? Really? I agree that the whole Seal Team story is ridiculous. Seeing Pelosi murdered on national TV is similarly ridiculous. What will you want to discuss next? A Martian invasion? There was more to the Confderacy than slavery. Ever heard of the "High Water Mark" of the Confederacy? Heroes all. And not a slave in sight.
Let's be real. There is a lot more to the Jan 6th charges than Free Speech. There was an entire Fake Elector plot that is what most of the charges are about. Do you enjoy distorting statements? Immunity is immunity, regardless of the crime, and the Supreme Court is totally negligent to interfere with this case, based on immunity. Good for you. Display your confederate flag proudly.
The right to protest in groups is a specific freedom and RIGHT mentioned in the First Amendment. Yes, that's what Jan 6 is all about. The "fake elector" thing went nowhere. There were probably some nuts that wanted to tar and feather someone but nothing happened with that either. No big deal. Every crowd has a few strange people. The court has the authority to decide what is and is not appropriate for it to consider. Your opinion carries no such authority. Are yo proposing the overthrow of the US government? I don't display a Confederate flag. But I respect those who died for their ideals in the Confederate cause. Rich folks owned slaves. Most of the Soldiers that sacrificed so much were just common folks without any slaves.
So there is murder and attempted murder. There is robbery and attempted robbery. The fact that Trump's elector plot didn't succeed does not preclude it from being a crime. I believe I've mentioned this to you once already, but you continue to make this same sorry argument.
It is kinda hard to accept that Jan 6 was "no big deal" Attacking the Capitol ( the Buildings of power and for democracy of a nation) is outrageous on any level. (OK third world countries might do that.........out of sheer desperation) IF a nation claims to be civilized , then it must behave in a civilized manner. The outgoing VP was threatened with lynching. (making that group a lynch mob ) Are the right so desensitized to violence now that this horrific event can be called "no big deal"??? If so, then they have lost perspective and cannot claim to respect the law . That day demonstrated just how barbaric some are. and how suggestable they are to their chosen leaders words. They did this for ONE MAN. What kind of nation is this now?? What has made this nation (along with a few others), the civil place it has been . The PEACEFUL and gracious transfer of power when partis change office. That day demonstrated that this nation is NOT civilized when it comes to the above qualifies. That event was instigated by Trump. There is nO defense for that kind of conduct. (both his and the mob he stirred into violence) IF Trump had accepted his loss with the dignity required in a civilized nation...there would have been no Jan 6
Wow. I guess we better not ever yell "Kill the Umpire at a ball game ever again"... You'll get the chair.
Forgetting the FALSE ELECTOR PLOT again? How many times? From now on, I will not take the time to explain on these posts - just look for the bold words. Some type of accountability for the crime. That's what happens to citizens who break the law.
False elector plot? When was ANYONE CONVICTED of such a thing? Where and when? Oh... the court of your mind. Okay, we understand. So again, you think that the use of deadly force (shooting and killing them) is appropriate for an unarmed person stepping through a window? Just shoot anyone that breaks any law? WOW!
That's the magic question of the thread. When will Trump be held accountable? Nine people died because he convinced his MAGA base and White Supremacists to "Stop the Steal".and think that "Mike Pence can do the Right Thing". But you answered the question when you said that Biden didn't win the election. That is a conspiracy theory. If you want to go around believing a con man who is spreading conspiracy theories, go ahead. Just don't expect too many to join in your camp.
Trump had nothing to do with anyone dying that day. That is such radical propaganda that one wonders what target audience is expected to believe it for a moment? Addicts and incarcerated mental patients might believe it, but they aren't a large part of the population. I never said that Biden did not win the election. I NEVER said that. Please don't make up such silliness. It doesn't help your ailing credibility. Using your logic... we have to go after Biden for killing Ashli!!!
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/05/us/politics/jan-6-capitol-deaths.html A bipartisan Senate report, released in June, found that the seven deaths were connected to the Capitol attack. But the report was issued a month before two Metropolitan Police officers — Gunther Hashida and Kyle DeFreytag — died by suicide in July.
