A government that does not trust its citizens with guns, is a government that should not be trusted. Need I say more?
There are mor Firearms (Non-Military/Non-Law Enforcement ) in civilian hands in Alaska than in ALL of China.
I will look into that, if its true it is a perfect testimony to the OP. Thank you most honorable friend for this excellent post.
Whenever a simple mind liberal hears or reads the word "Slave" they freak out. And the squirrels in their heads, make them convinced the person implying it is racist. So beware.
Ludicrous proposition. The concept of freedom was around a long time before guns were invented. The US invented neither.
No man had freedom until he took up arms against his master, it may have been swords along time ago, but today it indeed is firearms.
No it doesnt. Unless youre claiming freedom as a concept was only invented along with american gun ownership.
American revolution, no arms there, French revolution no arms there, yea I can see where this is going. I know, Tibet, yep they are free arent they!
So essentially if something wasnt around when freedom was 'invented' then freemen do not have rights to it.
That wasnt your original point either was it? You are trying to correlate freedom with firearm ownership, that may very well be how you as an individual define your concept of freedom but it doesnt necassaily translate across to others.
Another thought; "Freedom? You think you are free? Ha! Try doing something without money" - Bill Hicks
no I just want to know exactly what a free man is? How can you tell if you are free or not? maybe it just means you are not in chains?
Isn't one of the common arguments in favour of private gun ownership to defend against impositions by government, which implies a mistrust of government in general? There are a whole range of reasons a government might wish to reduce private gun ownership, only one of which would be about being able to enforce control militarily. They could be wrong but that doesn't automatically make them dictatorial and corrupt.
Eventually your knowledge of world history is blieek. Then again, your place of residence dictacts your remark. Goverment there allows for social misery.
now if you were talking about jesus christ that may hold water, but you are talking about the gubafia.
Americans mistrust their own government, that much is plain. It shouldnt be so in a true democracy but I can understand why. Your democracy was hijacked decades ago by corrupt politicans in favour of corporate profits. The gun lobby, funded and manipulated by the corporations which make huge profits brainwashing children from birth that manhood depends on owning the biggest guns one of the most powerful lobbies in the US, if not the earth. The brainwashing is so complete that you cant understand a society that doesnt itself revere firearms and instead choose to deride the very people who reject your concept of slavery as slaves themselves. Turn your televisons off, walk outside and smell the air. Do what you want , not what a faceless corporation tells you. Thats freedom.
We are all slaves, slaves to our economic status. Guns very little to do with your status as a free citizen. There many countries that allow the same basic rights with the denial of firearms. Their governments have not turned on the people, then again access toyour sporting rifle certainly will not prevent it. Keep in mind not a single officer was shot when confiscating firearms after Katrina. Something to think about before boasting how "they will pry it out of my cold dead fingers ". You are a slave to the top 5% who possess 95% of the wealth.
