He is correct, though. Having the death penalty for rape will mean more victims are killed because the victim can't identify you, and the perp hasn't lost anything.
Not so. We already know that in the US, states with the death penalty have a higher murder rate than those without. The death penalty doesn't deter.
You cant use the US as your example. The crime rate there has a different cause than here. Also if you take out the blacks shooting each other over drugs ect the murder rate wouldnt be so bad.
I'm not sure If I'm answering the right question here. Still learning this internet stuff. My answer is to the person who asks why we shouldn't just kill them right out (I'm assuming he means after they're found guilty). Ignoring the official reason, what about this: What if we've got the wrong guy? You don't really have to look too far back to know that happens (too often). Cool down. He has not been convicted yet. In any case death is too easy. The rest of his life in solitary (and as a peadophile it will be), if you think about it, will be a far worse sentence
Finally they seem to have found his remains. This will be good for the family but will it help a conviction? After the amount of time that has passed, the case becomes very hard for prosecution. Let us all hope justice is done.
Yeah, that is a problem. Unless they can link this guy to the crime then they can't expect a conviction. They really need to find something airtight.
