..but you are not willing to profess your own faith. That speaks volumes. 1 Peter 3: [13]Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is right? [14] But even if you do suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, [15] but in your hearts reverence Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence; [16] and keep your conscience clear, so that, when you are abused, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
Depends how to see it: From your point of view or from the point of view of about two billlion christians. I guess if the Jew Joseph would had been an unclear man like you then no one would know what the word "bible" could mean. http://youtu.be/INWuChPKO_Q
Quite the contrary. I profess my faith constantly here. I am Christian. And, I always am ready to give defense in the cause of Christ. Quantrill
What is the concrete name of your church? I Like to take a look what are the arguments of your own church in case of death penalty. http://youtu.be/jyPMDD8fGeA
I am Christian and Protestant. Born-again. I believe the Bible and that Gen. 9 gives the argument for the death penalty. Quantrill
"Born again Christian" means what exactly? Where can I take a look about the statements and/or theology of your church in case of death penalty? Who is an authority of your own church sharing your view about death penalty? By the way: My wife is a protestant - more exact she's a Lutherian - and she's like all protestants in Germany against death penalty. http://youtu.be/AIPdTiYEC9c
Born-again means to be born-again by the Holy Spirit of God. It takes place when one believes on Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Really? Ask your wife what the Lutheran Church says about Gen. 9:5-6. Jesus Christ is the Authority over the Church. Then I disagree with all Protestants in Germany, as does Gen.9. Quantrill
If you're a Christian you gotta ask yourself - as governor of Texas, would Jesus Christ be signing death warrants on a weekly basis? My thinking is, "nah".
Sounds like confirmation. I don't discuss with you about the bible because it makes in my eyes no sense to do so. You should not forget who wrote the bible: We! Sure it's the word of god inside - but always only in the way the people understood god. Tell me please what he said to you when you asked him about death penalty. So a protetant disagrees with all protestants because they are Germans? Whatever - is anyone in the world able to identify you as a member of the christian religion? Are you baptized? Are you confirmed? Who did this? http://youtu.be/4T7NEeN0o3U
Sounds like, 'born-again'. No, the Bible is the Word of God period. Its up to us to study and know what the Word of God says. He said read Gen.9. I disagree with any who I believe are mistaken in what the Bible says. I am Christian. I have trusted Christ as my Lord and Saviour and I am born-again. Quantrill
The Bible says "born again" of water--are you baptized? If so, what formula was said as you were baptized. If not, what are you "born again" of?
Would the 'formula' matter? The Bible says, "born of water and of the Spirit", not just water. John 3:5. I am born of the Spirit of God. Quantrill
By the way............ YES, it does matter: Matt.28 [19] Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
I understand 'water' in John 3:5 as pertaining to the Word of God as the Word is spoken of as 'water'. Eph. 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. But, yes I have been baptized by water. Quantrill
I don't take it that way because the chapter ends in reference to baptizing with water: [22]After this Jesus and his disciples went into the land of Judea; there he remained with them and baptized. [23] John also was baptizing at Ae'non near Salim, because there was much water there; and people came and were baptized. Good.
This is the problem between Protestants and Catholics, not hearing one another. I don't think any Christian of any degree of tenure doesn't know what "born again" means in reference to Jesus's conversation with Nichodemus, but you're playing dumb...for what? And until you ask ALL protestants in Germany what their opinion is on the death penalty, not all Protestants in Germany oppose the death penalty. From your side, I've seen more of this shameless presumptiveness upon the sentiments of people you don't even know. Knock it off.
Just a little note, Felicity, the formula isn't so important because even the Mormons baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit using water, but their baptism has been invalidated for the purposes of entering the Catholic Church via RCIA because of their erroneous views of the Trinity. BTW, I enjoy reading your posts.
Nice joke. You forgot that the christian religion is not an ideology. Everyone is able to see your nearly empty heart. I would say on pragmatic reasons: Perhaps it's better for you to take care for this very little light in your heart before you like to enjoy the death of people who are exactly the same people as we are all ourselve - or do you really think you could never become be a murderer in this life here? If I understand god in the right way then he says via my person to you: "Think about to save souls - do not think about to kill people!". http://youtu.be/xVpZyO1EsOQ?t=17s
Whose joking? As my salvation is not dependent on your or anothers opinion, your evaluation of me is not important. What I think about is knowing God and His Word, the Bible. Quantrill
You don't believe in god - but the same time you are speaking in his name trying to manipulate me with psychological methods. You are joking. The creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. ¿So you visited Jesus Christ in prison? http://youtu.be/TbZumE6yFkg
I'm not "faithful" but if I were my logic would be the same as the logic for liberals in promoting abortion. They're not really humans. They're not persons. A woman told me that she didn't consider abortion as "killing". Okay, I'm on board with that. I don't consider the deaths of murderers are "killing".
