Sacramentally, the formula DOES matter--every sacrament has form and matter. In baptism the matter is water, and the form is the Trinitarian words of consecration. Likewise, in Confirmation: Matter: chrism~~Form:"be sealed with the Holy Spirit" Holy Orders: Matter: laying on of hands~~Form: prayers of consecration Reconcilliation: Matter: verbal confession~~Form: prayer of absolution Marriage: Matter: donation of life to another~~Form: vows of spouses Annointing of the sick: Matter: Holy oils~~Form: prayers of healing Eucharist: Matter: Bread and Wine~~Form: prayers of consecration We are creatures of body (Matter) and soul (the sacred spiritual aspect--our "Form") and so Sacraments ALL must address our whole being. It is true that the Mormon baptism is not recognized as valid because they do not mean "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit" as one God, but rather three. Intention matters in all Sacramental acts. Just as one can't engage in marriage without the intention of self-donation (hence annulment may be achieved), likewise, a fundamental error in the act of a Sacrament can invalidate it. (I used to to be the RCIA director at my parish) Thank-you. Likewise.
You and Iolol both! Do you know how repugnant it is to challenge the Christianity of others because you don't like their political opinions? "You're not a real Christian 'cause you don't think like me" is so crass and so base and such a departure from true Christian piety that doesn't dare ejaculate such judgemental statements.
Human dignity is in all human beings. It's a present of god - completly independent wether you are not able to find it in yourselve so you are not able to see it in others. May I ask what your religion is? Lots of religions have similiar concepts. Buddhists for example are saying in all animalic life exists a "buddha-nature". The buddha nature is able to lead every individual livign creature to become an enlighted entity. That's for example why they are not even killing animals. http://youtu.be/HwSKkKrUzUk
When I'm tempted to reach for hate, I'm compelled instead to love you. Perhaps we can better demonstrate our Christianity not by the prowess of our political rhetoric but by loving one another. Christ suffers me not to have any enemies.
I don't like to demonstrate anything what is wrong - and my feeling is that you are wrong. God is allmighty. Her created all human beings. There's absolutely no need for god to kill any human being - and he never did so nor he gave any allowness to kill someone. An exception is self defense. Even Kain who became a murderer - (everyone without any exception is able to become a murderer) - got his mark from god not that everyone was able to see that he's a murderer - everyone knew this - he got this mark because god allowed no one to hurt Kain. http://youtu.be/6mekDWywxGQ
