Not in the early stages, but later on there is. Most women don't have abortions when there is just a zygote, though.

It is important to start at the zygote because there is clearly no brain at this point .. no human.

I agree that later on the brain and human are formed enough for the entity to be considered human.

This is why I agree with abortion in the early stages but have personal moral issues with termination of the pregnancy later on.

I disagree with you on the zygote not being a human thing. Its a human from the moment of conception, but it isn't a person, or a human being.

There is no rational basis for your assertion.

Of course there is. Legally and factually.

notice too how very amused they are at the idea of anyone actually valuing life...how very provincial of us, Whaler...why oh why can't we move into the twentyfirst century when no one cares about anything or anyone except themselves, they wonder...

I am so grateful to my own raising that somehow prevents me from being that cold, callous and cruel.

Simple solution, don't have sex, if you do have sex use birth control, have sex with other women only, choose an infertile partner...

It is amusing to see people that are SOOOOOOO women libby acting like women are helpless waifs unable to figure out what is causing them babies to show up in their bellies..

make up your minds, deatheaters, are women fit to make their own decisions or NOT?

Yes, it's amusing. I would wager that the same audience members who were shouting, "YES! YES! YES!" at the GOP Tea Party debate in answer to the question about letting an uninsured patient die would also say they are adamently pro-life because they value life! That claim loses credibility when so many pro-lifers seem to "value life" only when it's in the womb.

LOL!! THIS is why I love to stop by now and again. I know I have a winning hand, and all you have is "what's the definition of 'is'?" and "You is stooopid"..

yes, I know not only what pinnacle is, I know that you don't have an argument. It's fun to watch you jump thru my hoops though....

    jump, Prometeus, jump!!

well since you don't know who it was that was yelling "yes yes yes" (Plant? anyone? maybe a Progressive from one of the various websites that encourage people to "Crash the Tea Party"?? hmmmmmm...) I don't see how you can accuse me or Whaler or anyone else here of having that attitude..

but I do know deatheaters like to twist things around so go ahead and explain how you know it was Whaler hollering 'yes yes yes' (I know it wasn't me, seeing how I haven't been on any trips lately)

Do you support universal health care or not?

Did I say it was you or Whaler? How ironic, coming from the queen of word twisting.

So this is all just a game to you...."winning hand", "jump thru hoops", "it's fun". It's not really about LIFE at all. It's about your winning so you can make the rules.

Insurance doesn't keep people alive. Suggesting it does just makes you look like an idiot.

I do not because it will hurt the quality of care and drive everyone's costs up!

Of course insurance does not keep people alive, but the lack of it and the inability to pay for medical care sure makes people dead.

The you can explain why the US pays more for health cars than any other industrialized nation, yet by any measure, we are not the healthiest.
We are lacking in longevity, infant mortality, maternal death. So what is exactly that would suffer and why?

Well there is far too much govt interference, which is costly, for starters. Why should a medical company have to run the guantlet of a govt red tape process to obtain a "certificate of need" to open a new facility?

Why should medical facilities be treated any differently than other businesses? If there isn't a need, the entity will fail financially and the facility will close right? It is managed scarcity designed to keep costs high and salaries high of doctors and medical administrators.

Another issue is the managed scarcity of doctors allowed by the govt because doctors pour LOTS of money into PACS and lobbying groups to ensure they are paid far more than is justifiable. If competition and market forces were allowed to control the industry pricing would self regulate.

Then there is abuse of the emergency room system resulting in higher costs. Abuse will only grow in frequency if you remove all financial barriers from committing abuse. Then the previous managed scarcity will serve to drive costs up further due to simple supply and demand dynamics.

I am not sure why health cars are expensive. What is a health car?

Lighten up Francis, it was just a joke.

Its fine to disagree but you give no basis for your disagreement.

The only difference between the zygote cell and any other human cell is that the DNA in the zygote has the codes "create a human" turned on.

Every other cell has the same DNA, the codes for creating a human are just not turned on.

The DNA contains the Blueprint for a human .. that organism in that blueprint has not been created yet.

This is why biologists consider the zygote as having only the "potential" to create a human.

Second: Each of the two cells created after the first mitotic division can create a human and for at least 100 or so cells after. Each of these cells have the same capability as the zygote so do we now have 100 humans ?

No .. we have 100 potential humans.

Terminating a pregnancy in the early stages is terminating the process of creating a human. A potential human that has yet to be created.

Okay, since you're obviously new here, we'll cover the basics. Abortion kills a baby. Understand?

In most cases, abortion kills an embryo. A baby is an infant from birth to one year.

The anti-abortionists are the pro-murderers as I prefer to call them are the ones with no value for life. They do not care how many young women die in illegal abortions, how many women go nuts because of the way their parents and peers treat them. Al they care about are a few cells with no independent life at all. Cells that one day MIGHT or might not become life. The real pro-lifers are the ones concerned with those that are alive, not those that may be alive. The death of ONE young woman due to an illegal abortion is NOT worth a million dead fetuses. Better for one hundred million abortions that the loss of one 13 year old girl, bleeding out in some back alley.
Cold, hard and callous is going back to the days before legal abortion when emergency rooms were often full of dead women from illegal abortions. My mother worked in an Emergency room from the 1930's until the 1970's and has many times told me, that the only thing worse than seeing the young men come in shot to death, knifed and overdosed, was seeing the young women come in dead or dying from botched abortions, or botched abortion attempts. Anyone wanting to make abortions illegal is inhuman, uncaring and a spiteful and hateful bigot.
