When you see homosexuals trying to take away your rights, let me know.

Out here in California, Prop 8 was initiated by the The Alliance Defense Fund, a consortium of christian lawyers head quartered in Phoenix AZ.

When Prop 8 looked like it was heading to defeat, the Mormon Church stepped in and poured millions of dollars in ads against Prop 8 that flat out lied about Prop 8. Ads were running that if Prop 8 didn't then gay marriage MUST be part of every schools curriculum. This was a flat out lie and the California Superintendent even ran ads saying this was not the case.

This goes beyond 'making fun of' something. There are rights that are on line.

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning Youth Suicide Statistics

Teen suicide rates are 4 times higher than for other teens.

This goes beyond 'making fun of' something. There are lives that are on line.

We should have a zero tolerance policy for intolerance and bigotry in our schools. We cannot afford not too.

No mercy for those who exercise free speech, or espouse their personal beliefs.

Would the gay student have been suspended for saying "Christianity is wrong"?

Where is Cessna with the liberal tolerance photo?

Liberals only have tolerance when it aligns with their warped ideology.

Soooo, this student was temp suspended because...?

Good, someone must argue against onslaught from homosexual rights groups and the ACLU, who seem to think that any Christian values must be negated, until Christianity is eradicated in its entirety.
If it weren't so, I would cheer for homosexual "rights", not the behavior, mind you.

May be the reason IS homosexuality?

You mean ZERO tolerance for anyone who doesn't agree with homosexuality?
How about some tolerance for my Christian beliefs and values?
You want want want, but never give ANY consideration.
Once we arrive at give and take, we can speak again. Fair enough?:sun:
Oh, and btw, God loves you, and so do I.

Um, yea, I'm not saying it's not.
My concern was for this young ladys well being.
I felt at 13 years of age, she seemed a little obsessive about sexuality.
My daughter later told me the young lady told her, that she is adopted and her birth parents abused her until she was removed from the home at age 5.
I know the young lady is adopted, why, when, where or what happened with her birth parents I do not know.

    Um, again - yes.
Did you read my post? That was kind of my point.
That if it was a young man acting inappropriate in this manner I believe it could and would have been addressed very simply

Good? Nice that you show your true colors.

Those who are unwilling to give out the same rights as they have, do not deserve any rights themselves.

More like societies non-tolerance towards homosexuals.

You have the right to believe in myths all you wish. You have a right to free speech. Your Zero tolerance response is nothing but nonsense. A made up factoid to try and divert attention away from my real rights being taken away. Rights you obviously don’t care about, based off your opening statement.

As for zero tolerance in schools, it should be enforced and enforced vigorously. Would you be so up in arms if this student said 'blacks' instead of 'homosexuals'? I would be saying the same thing. WE need to teach tolerance and anti-bullying to our school children.

PS: Of course you and your myth loves me. Since you myth only lives in your imagination, you can tell it to love whomever.

    Texmaster;

No what I don't see is anything tangible other than he said/did this and they said/did that. If a student is placed on suspension the parents get a written notification as to why they were placed on suspension. What was the actual reason for the suspension? Is that not a legitimate question or what?

Talking in class is a disruption to the class, and it is usually dealt with by someone in the office if a teacher thinks it has become a problem. I’m sure it is common in most schools. From what I have read and seen on the news broadcast the vice principal gave the suspension and contacted the parent, by phone but where is the written notification and what does it say was the “actual” reason for the suspension?

The VP said other than the "disruption in class", which sounds a lot like talking in class, all other matters would be dealt with according to existing school policies in private, also according to school policy. The kid said the VP told him to carry on “private discussions” (sure sounds like talking in class to me) in the hall way like the other kids not in the class room. If the negative discussion of gays was against school policy, does it make sense that the VP would tell him to do it in the hallway instead of the classroom? Not likely since all school policies usually cover all school activities on and off campus. Like cussing is against school policy but it isn't allowed in the hall way any more than it is in the classroom. Do you understand where I‘m coming from yet?

I already answered those questions in another post, but OK just for you.

As of yet there hasn't been any evidence presented that the student was suspended because he has a negative view on homosexuality. What was he suspended for? And no, nobody should be suspended for expressing their opinion when asked to do so by a teacher or any other employee of the school. So the question is, did the teacher call on him and ask for his opinion? If not then you have to ask yourself, why was the student being disruptive and having a private conversation in class with another student?

As I said before, in language classes words come up either inadvertently or from the mispronunciation or misuse of certain words or the spelling of certain words. My son has taken Spanish for years and words are not used properly all the time and some words mean things that are completely contradictory to what they are sometimes used for. These kids are in high school and just saying don't worry about it just don't do it again doesn't cover their curiosity. He has told me and my wife some pretty funny situations that has come up in class where this has been the case. The teachers explain it as delicately as possible and move on, but certain topics come up none the less that wouldn't be considered to be regular curriculum in the class under normal conditions.

I remember a particular case where my son was in elementary school and the social studies class was talking about crime during the depression. He found a book in the library and it suggested that Clyde of Bonnie and Clyde was a homosexual. So of course my son asked the teacher in class, in front of everybody, what a homosexual was. Let’s just say it was an interesting day for the class that day. My point is things come up, and kids ask the darnedest questions sometimes.

Nobody is running away, just having a discussion on the topic. Ask me anything, just be aware you might not like the answer you hear.

The kid should not have gotten in trouble for voicing his opinion. If others disagreed they could have tried to convince him he was wrong, that would have been fine. But he is certainly entitled to his opinion.. They really shouldn't be discussing political issues in german class, seems inappropriate. And the kid should have been paying attention, not having a private conversation with his friend. He should have been reprimanded for not paying attention, but not suspended for his opinion.

Of course I doubt this is the whole story.

I am not sure that serves your position, but I agree with it.

Ummm... to dare question if the causes of homosexuality are interlinked with suicidal depression means that they are non-tolerant?

Black people suffered a tremendous amount more than closet gays without even close to the suicide rate of the lgbt community. India still uses the Caste system ffs and their numbers are crushed under the weight of LGBT.

Can ANYONE even ADDRESS this conversation with a modicum of honesty? LGBT are NOT the most oppressed people in the history of the world, and there are almost NO GROUPS IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD with greater rates of suicide.

Can you even BROACH this subject with some honesty instead of the "I'm being oppressed!!!" shield?

Again... it goes both ways (a bisexual argument?). Suggesting Christianity is "wrong" or "stupid" or "a myth" should be as vigorously prosecuted as beliefs on homosexuality.

    Do you agree?

    BTW I am agnostic.

    By whose definition?
When we legislate morality, we impose our values on another through the threat of violence.
This is what is called a fascist regime.

Do villains ever see themselves as villains?
Or do they see themselves as serving some greater good?

You and gay advocates are pushing to give government the power to legally designate people criminals and lock them in cages,
    - for what they think and what they say under the definition of a "hate" crime.

Do you or anybody really trust politicians from the Left or the Right with that kind of power?

Of course it isn't when you have zero evidence to support your claim.

Buy this isn't uncommon for you is it?

Again, ZERO evidence to support your claim once again. I see a trend forming.

Where is it said all suspensions are mailed? Where does it say this suspension was for talking in class? Again, you have nothing. We are operating on what we know not what we have no evidence of as you are.

FALSE. That is NOT what he said.

    I quote:

Krause said school leaders told Dakota that in the future he should be careful when and where he talks about his opposition to homosexuality – suggesting that he talk about such matters in the hallway instead of the classroom.

He is clearing claiming this SPECIFIC topic of disapproving of homosexuality should be taken out of class. He NEVER says all talking during class should be taken outside. It is really pathetic watching you fail in mental gymnastics to excuse what happened to this honor student.

Again ZERO evidence to support your claim such a policy exists. And because you don't approve of homosexuality does not mean you are being negative. This is another fascist far left fallacy.

Of course. You fabricate school pocliies you can't prove, you fabricate what the VP said and have to be corrected, and you fabricate the reason for the honor's student being sent to the office.

Yes you are quite clear. Come back when you actually have evidence of your BS theories.

Yet another lie but not unexpected.

Your entire premise is based on evidence that you can't prove exists. We know from the evidence this is a pro homosexual teacher. We know he was preaching acceptance in a class devoid of the sermon he was giving. We know the comment made goes against his beliefs. We know the child was sent to the office after being yelled at for making his comment.

You have ZERO evidence this kid was being disputive throughout the class and he is an honor's studient making your laughable claim even less likely.

You have ZERO evidence he was sent for talking in class yet you hang your hat on that unproven theory.

Zero evidence that happened here nor does it answer the question.

LOL That doesn't explain whatsoever how acceptance of homosexuality has a place in a German class. Whatever you are smoking pass it around.

Your moronic example aside this teacher was known to preach acceptance of homosexuality not bring it up as a subject to discuss. He had a clear opinion on the subject and it wasn't brought up once but repeatedly or the honor's student would not have known his opinion.

A compete Epic fail in your pitiful attempt to excuse the teacher based on zero evidence and fabricated reasoning.

Your entire argument is based on theroical evidence you can't prove exists. You also still have not explained how homosexuality has a place in German class and certainly not on a repeated basis or by a teacher who proselytizes a particular viewpoint.

Its a pathetic attempt to excuse the teacher and the school. You simply are not honest enough to admit your case is based on fabrications of what the VP actually said and evidence you can't prove exists.

Tex I made absolutely no claims, I asked for more information, so I could. There is a difference. The kid made this claim and said this, the mom made that claim and said that, and the lawyer they talked to agreed with everything they said.

Simple question without all this over reactionary baloney you wish to believe, WHAT WAS THE SUSPENSION FOR?

When you or anybody else for that matter can present the complete facts then I can come to an intelligent conclusion, until then jumping to conclusions as you seem to demand from everybody else without all the evidence isn't reasonable.

I'm not defending the teacher or the student at this point, based on the insufficient evidence presented. Sorry.

    I'll say it again, read it slowly this time;

IF the school suspended him for voicing his opinion on the matter being discussed in class, then I take the students side. If the honor student was disciplined for disturbing the class by talking to other students in the class, as is a fact by his own admission, then he was at fault and should have received the same treatment anybody else in class would have received according to school policy. The fact he is an honor student or on the foot ball team is irrelevant.

So you agree that since you are unwilling to give me my rights as a gay man, then you shouldn't have your religious rights.

    Outstanding!

You do realize that the black community had plenty of support amongst themselves right?

Where is the support for young gay teens?

When we fix out bigotry issues in American, then we can worry about our neighbors.

Again, calling god a myth is NOT taking anyone’s rights away. You need to differentiate between the two. I don't care if you don’t like homosexuality, I care that I don’t have the same rights.

He violated the Floridas Teachers code of ethics. You claim to be a teacher, but yet you dont agree with the importance of teachers being of a higher moral code than the average Joe - unless higher money is involved right?
