If Jefferson actually said that (and I have no reason to doubt that he did), he is the smartest guy in the history of the USA. But his warning was both too early and too late.
They are not protesting you. They are protesting it's power. Unfortunately, there appears to be more thuggish cops trying to shut it down. Have the protesters done anything wrong?
Are they blocking sidewalks and business entrances? Not moving when being promped to? Actively resisting police eforts to maintain peace, instead of protesting "Wall St"?In other words...acting in their typically overbearingly entitled, unwashed way? In most cases here in the US, it is actually the "activists" who are the thugs.
Russia Today is a joke. Western media has plenty of problems, but they're minor compared to the propaganda of that source.
Drink your flat Russian swill yourself, moon. I've seen those ANSWERnik bottom-feeders up close and personal more than enough times to know what they're about. The RT "report" is typical of the crappy excuse for coverage that never includes the footage of the demonstrators' actions that led to the police responses in the first place. You can't even attend a counter-demonstration against those bottom-feeders without bringing some sort of recording device to prevent their provocations. Christopher Hitchens, a self-avowed Trotskyist, wrote a reveal article about the nature and origins of the lunatic fringe Leftards that conduct these publicity stunts:
Mainstream national corporate media is a joke too... however no one's laughing. I'm aware RT tries pushing some stories with clear bias, but hey at least they're transparent, unlike our mainstream media outlets.
Being transparent and being blatantly biased aren't the same. It's like calling Fox News transparent. Sure, they don't hide their bias, but that's not being "transparent." I'll give you this much... Whether it's the West or outside the West, media outlets have agendas, and they tend to reflect whatever corporate interests are present. Over here, it's big banks, telecoms, and the military industrial complex. In Russia, it's gas companies, organized crime, and relics of the previous government.
I agree that all media outlets have agendas. However since R.T tends to cover stories that go on in the world or at home which BBC appears to ignore completely sometimes, I'd rather watch both news channels from time to time, to try and get a bigger picture than watching only one would give me.
The "activists" have been the thugs at EVERY demonstration/counter-demonstration I've attended in DC, Relevant. Assaults, vandalism, trespassing, you name it....
Well no, because ultimately it's down to accessibility and choice, and even if I could watch Fox news I wouldn't, just as I don't watch Sky news. I need to get information from outside of my four walls somehow, right? Since I'm not wealthy enough to fly anywhere in the world at any given time to witness events.
Why were they trying to "maintain" peace? What where they doing? And even if they were doing something, does it warrant this? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zgr3DiqWYCI"]MSNBC on NYPD Police Brutality during Occupy Wall Street Lawrence O'donnell with "The Last Word" - YouTube[/ame]
I watched it. Chopped up clips? Theres not a hint of context. Event the slo mo mace episode does not mention the circumstances just hitting us over the head w/ " they did nothing wrong." Why is that? Why is the video reporting only composed of the moment of "brutality"? Im mean we really have to put our trust in who's ever put this montage together dont we? Am I willing to put my trust in ODonnell let alone MSNBC to bring me unbiased news? Right here he tells since Rodney King police put bullseyes on camera men, while explaining that why the camera in the video is being "assaulted" but neglects to realize he's running a video of someone who's right in front the "assault" videotaping and not getting bashed? It does appear the police are trying to cordone off areas, appear to clearing public streets and sidewalks....businesses access....who to say how many times the folks have been instructed to move, what kind of verbal responses or physical resistance might have provoked the use of force... You are not allowed to just set up shop wherever you like....ones inability to maintain a peaceful non disruptive protest runs the risk of having the peace maintained for you. How one handles such instruction can make all the difference. Im seeing very little that constitutes brutality, sorry. Ive been handled more roughly by the police in my neck of the woods.
I don't know, does it? I personally think some of it was a bit suspicious. However, just like the 60s, they won't accomplish anything. It's a bunch of smelly, jobless hipsters pretending like their mindless chants will accomplish something of value other than giving the police something to do. I'm sure they're all excited talking about how they will "stage a revolution" and what not, but they wont.
Protesting is un-american, unless its a protest about building mosques. We can't have free speech saying things we don't like to hear can we?
Are these the reflected opinions of American gentlemen who support ' activists ' in every other country wherein the US of AIPAC spends billions on bribes and subversion in order to overthrow governments ? Surely not. Surely, US of AIPAC policemen cannot be law-abiding citizens demanding of our full respect whilst all foreign police forces are brutal and sadistic beasts in the pay of tyrants ? Say it isn't so. Tell us that the home of these opinions is not the fountainhead of propagandist hypocrisy, deceit and universal avarice .
Ive been supporting these foreign activists? or just making note of the fact it is the Muslim regimes ruling them who are slaughtering them. Id far less vocal about these other protests if the likes of Iran ,Syria ,Egypt ,Libya and Bahrain etc were just pepper spraying the crowds..but theyre spraying them sniper fire ans mortar shells....worth noting IMO. NYPD = AIPAC policemen..lol. Youre beyond the point of no return. Your antisemitic brainwashing is complete. Its like 12 degrees of Kevin Bacon, Jew style.....somehow its always can be traced back to the Jews.
They're statements of fact based on first-hand observation, just like Christopher Hitchens' statement of fact based on first-hand observation that ANSWERniks are, depending on the day of the week, the defenders and proponents of fascism, Stalinism and jihadism. Why am I not surprised that you have expressed your support for that movement, moon?
Actually, I think the protesters were pathetic. Wall Street is making you into slaves and you seem to like it.
