No surprise but not resolved. The SC didn't want to open up a big can of worms that would not produce a beneficial result.
That may be for the best. If we find out 50 years from now that Obama is really foreign born it would not cause a meltdown in our political system then like it would now.
I don't see it as his birth certificate as the challenge his legitimacy to be President, to me it's what he's done over the last 3 years. Nothing like what he said he's do.
Birtherism didn't survive as a conspiracy theory....... so now, it only lives on as a mental disorder.
This is not resolved. There is a reason Obama has been so secretive on this issue. There is a reason he refused to show his birth certificate for so many years and paid so much money to attorneys to keep it secret.
This is officially the 16th time they have been told by SCOTUS to pound sand. What would honestly lead you to believe they won't soon be back for attempt #17?
16-0 doesn't bother me at all. I love an easy victory. Plus every time they bring it up and lose I get to brag again.
These are not victories for Obama. The courts are refusing to hear these cases for lack of standing, which is a procedural techicality, not a decision on the merits. The states failed to vet Obama and make sure he was qualified before certifying his victories of electoral votes. The electoral college failed to verify Obama was qualified before casting their votes. Congress fell down on its Constitutional duty to vet Obama and make sure he was qualified before certifying his victory in the electoral college. This is a failure by our government at all levels to perform its proper Constitutional functions and no one should be celebrating.
As was written by a Canadian author and read aloud on the Rush Limbaugh show,Obama FAILED to meet his eligibility requirement. Without even going into Proving that Short Form Birth Document was never authenticated.
No they are not. They are victories of law, common sense, and reality over the idiocy of fringe nut-job conspiracy theorists. Wrong again. Standing is no technicality. It is the first merit of any civil case. The concept of standing has been painstakingly assembled over the years by conservatives for the purpose of keeping frivolous and abusive lawsuits out of the courts. As we see, they did a great job! That said... you are wrong if you believe that all 83 Birther cases have been dismissed on standing. At least three have not... to include Donofrio v. Wells; the first Birther case to reach SCOTUS. It really sucks to be a Birther.
Too bad that the short form was authenticated by the only authority on the planet with the legal prerogative to do so; the State of Hawaii.
Exactly. First thing I thought when I saw this thread title? It's not the Birthtards that are losers... it's the American people. Too bad we have so many gullible folks in this country who've become Obama's useful idiots.
The courts reject taxpayer standing and citizen standing because otherwise they'd be opening the floodgates for taxpayers and citizens to challenge every act of government and they'd be overwhelmed with litigation. Under the Constitution, it was Congress' job to certify the election of the electoral college and therefore it was Congress' job to make sure Obama met the constitutional qualifications. Congress failed to do its job and there is no excuse. When McCain's citizenship was in question, Congress promptly looked into it and verified he was a natural born citizen even though he was born in the Panama Canal Zone. This is corruption at the very highest levels of government and all Americans should be angered at it.
It only takes 4 justices to agree to hear a case. That means Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, and Alito the most conservative of all conservative justices couldn't agree that this case had merit. That's the reality. I'll leave you to your sour grapes and whimpering.
It is in this dimension. Honestly, at this point it's nothing but a freakshow, like the bearded ladies in the circus.
You seem confused. There is no requirement in the Constitution that a President be 'qualified' but there is a requirement that a President be 'eligible'. And of course the States confirmed Obama's eligiblity exactly the same as they did Bush and Clinton and Reagan etc. The Electoral College elected President Obama knowing more about his eligiblity than it had for Bush's or Clinton's or Reagan's. And Congress knew more about Obama's eligibility when it confirmed his election without a single objection, than it did about Bush or Clinton or Reagan. So the question I always have is- why do you demand that President Obama be treated differently than every other President was?
