Have you got a viable explanation for how it DOES work - other than placebo effect? If you do you stand to win a lot of money!! http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg19826613.200-competition-puts-homeopathy-on-trial.html
I'll answer your question after you answer mine. If you knew how homeopathy works, you would know you couldn't do this for a single remedy. You could for the combination remedies, but what company is going to shell out the money to prove an un-patentable product? He's probably sour because homeopathy is eating away at his profits.
While I agree that homeopathy is snake oil, your logic is unsound. Lack of testing and peer review does not make anything "snake oil" or otherwise non-medicine.
I'm not sure if it's more irksome than Reiki. At least homeopaths generally know their herbs and can recommend real substances for minor issues like a stuffy nose or muscle pain.
How can a "snake oil" therapy system not only survive for over 200 years, but consistently keep getting more and more popular every year?
Well in my experience it is. Which is exactly as reliable a claim as you saying it is the most hated.
Are doctors also approved to diagnose ADHD? I wonder why so many children in the US are on drugs for ADHD when in fact, they are just little (*)(*)(*)(*)s who need a good kick up the bum? I would try alternate measures before resorting to drugs. If that didn't work, put the kid on medication. But medication should NEVER be a first resort. That doesn't give a doctor the right to say that something doesn't work, if it makes someone feel better, then that is all that matters.
Yes, it is. They believe it is. If I take a sugar pill and it makes my tummy feel better, then that sugar pill has worked. I don't care about the science behind it, I am just glad I don't feel ill anymore. If someone can take something and it helps with their pain, then we shouldn't tell them it doesn't work and to throw expensive drugs at them.
Herbal remedies and those other drugs you think are just water do actually work. It depends on which ones you buy and you have to try a lot to see what works. Regular drugs don't work for me. Two Nurofen do nothing for me. Half an hour later my pain returns, worse than before. I thought drugs were meant to help?
By the sounds of it YOU are causing them not to work by not accepting that they do. You are causing the problem.
They haven't worked for years. I don't have an issue with people taking drugs, I just hate that doctors refuse to consider that something else MIGHT work. For me, regular drugs rarely work. They used to, but no longer.
They did consider that it might work. In fact, they went ahead and tested it. As it turns out, it doesn't work.
You're not getting it. It doesn't work. It's just the belief in it working that is working. Sugar isn't a magical cancer cure just because some people in a trial got better when they were given a sugar pill.
